Faith, Hope and Love in Action
The The SSppiirreeSSppiirree
Each month for the next 8months we will have a worshiptheme. This is to help “Tee-up”our confirmation class which willbegin their faith explorationOctober 21st.
These themes in worship will alsobe expressed through music, prayers and a mix of media tohelp shake up, wake andenergize our lives.
The theme in worship thismonth… is PRAYER.
Whether your prayer life is richbeyond measure, dry as a boneor in need of resurrection, it ismy prayer that you:
• Recommit yourself and yourfamily to weekly worship
• Be open to God’s voice andGod’s teaching
• Find new ways to grow yourfaith, trust and love in a Godwho loves you uncondition-ally.
Committing to the journey ofprayer with you,
♥ Jen
Dear Saints,I want you to listen to me…but I won’t force you.Love doesn’t insist on its own way.
I want you to hear me so that it can impact yourlife and your faith.
I want to share your faith journey with you.
I want you to share your faith journey with me.
I want to listen to you.
I want you to listen to me.
Please talk to me and listen to me so that…
You find purpose again or for the first time.
You know that you matter to me and you are notbeing ignored. You take the path less traveled even if it seemstoo daunting. You can feel the peace…that passes all understanding.

Top 10 Reasons Why Singing is Good for YouExcerpt from article by Bhavana Narayan, August 26, 2013
10. Can help prolong life — Are you aware that healthy and happy singing is thekey to a longer life? Once again, you need not be a performing artiste for you to experience thismiracle! It does not depend on how well you sing. If you sing everyday, you can have a longerlife too! Research proves... Singers do have a greater life expectancy than most average adults. 9. Boosts memory — Using music and singing as tools for better memory is not unheardof! This is what our ancestors practiced. You remember the lyrics and notes. You keep a trackof the pitch and the rhythm. All this involves the use of memory, involuntarily. With more ofsuch use, your memory improves. Music helps us remember better, and also more easily.Pronunciation and mnemonics improve too. 8. Makes you creative — Singing, like any other art form is about being creative. There are umpteen possibilities to sing a song differently. In the end you sound different, andthis is being creative. Singing is a creative pursuit, where you discover yourself and devisenewer methods of expression.7. Good health and well being — Singing and good health are synonymous. Itensures well being: physical, mental, psychological and social. It improves the posture andbreathing. There’s no better breathing exercise than singing. It increases the capacity of therespiratory system and improves immunity. Singing is an aerobic activity that increasesoxygen flow to the body.6. Healing effects — The healing effects of music on the mind and the soul are verywell known. When you are sad you listen to music. Singing fills the brain with healthychemicals, so you end up feeling good when you sing. Singing is a mood lifter and hastherapeutic effects. It evokes positive emotions. 5. A way to express yourself — Singing is the most natural form of expression. It isa way to communicate, creatively and effectively. You can show yourself through the way youportray and paint your emotions, through your singing. Singing is a free and uninhibitedchannel to express yourself. 4. Connects you to people — When you sing, it is not only you who can feel theemotions, but also the audience who listen to you. It touches their hearts too! Through yourmusic, you can reach out to practically anyone in the world, for music transcends everything!Singing is great for a community life. It increases the bonding between people and makes asociety healthy, in terms of culture and morals.3. The greatest stress buster! — Singing can make you ‘be in the moment’,helping you forget all else. It can help reduce fear, hopelessness, anxiety, depression andinsecurity. It is nature’s way of helping you feel good. It increases confidence and builds self-esteem. It reduces feelings of isolation. 2. Makes you a better person — You have to accept things as they come. There arefew things we cannot control, and it is best to let go of them. When you start singing, you stopworrying about all the unnecessary stuff. Your positive side is at its peak.
1. Makes you happy– sing for joy! — Nothing can make you happy theway music can! The best reason to sing is that it makes you feel fabulous and fantastic! It addszest to your life. Singing is for enjoyment. It greatly enhances the quality of your life.
