conflicts.
Often times, to get from one point to another, we look
for short-cuts to make life efficient and smooth. Often times,
we look for this in our journey of getting to God and
arriving at the spiritual destinations He has in mind for us.
However, there is one important lesson I've learned
personally and pastorally. It is this: There are NO shortcuts
in our spiritual journey of knowing & experiencing God
deeply. There are NO shortcuts in the Kingdom of God. It
applies to every deep desire we hold with God and our
hearts Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV.
This year, if we could embrace and enact this truth, it
would utterly re-orient how we see, interpret, and experience
God and His presence. Through one painful experience after
another and through observations of my fellow believers,
this principle has proven true. Let this key truth of God's
restoration of your heart move from a heartbreaking surprise
to a life-giving compass in a turbulent sea. When we let go
of the misguiding notion of our instant gratification mindset
and embrace God's kingdom ways and thoughts, you'll be
surprised how deeply God meets us and sustains in the
journey this year.
Christ in Every Heart, Pastor Greg

The Women of Prayer Tuesday Morning Bible Study
is studying Seamless, Understanding the Bible as One
Complete Story, by Angie Smith which began October 17th. You still have time to join these ladies. Seamless covers the
people, places, and promises of the Bible, tying them
together into the greater story of Scripture. Whether you've
grown up hearing Bible stories of you're exploring Scripture
for the first time, the full story of the Bible can be
overwhelming. Experience the Bible as a whole as you gain clarity and
confidence in your understanding of Scripture. Discover a
biblical context that reshapes and brings to life stories from
the Old and New Testaments. Each week is accompanied by maps, general Bible facts, and
word studies. If you are interested in attending this Bible Study, please
contact Mary Nell Yarbro at (865) 679-9246 or Dana Rose
at (865) 679-0624.
Cherokee Health Systems At the next CPWM Meeting on January 21, there will be a
representative from Cherokee Health Systems there to speak
about what they do in general, and how we might partner
with them. One of their projects is called "Baby
Bundles". The CPWM is considering whether this is
something we want to help with. But they have several
other programs where they need help.
Everyone is welcome to join us to hear what they have to
