SUMMER HOLIDAY CLUB
Monday 9th July to Friday 24th August 2018
Open to Fairfield and non-Fairfield pupils aged 3-11
Please ensure a packed lunch and a water bottle, is provided on a daily basis. Lunch is eaten at approximately 12.30, so even if your child is going home at lunchtime, they can sit and enjoy their packed lunch with their friends prior to going home. Please note, due to allergies, we are a nut and kiwi free school. Please do not send your child in to Holiday Club with either of these products. Please ensure suitable clothing is sent into Holiday Club. Depending on activities and the weather, we will be outside every day – “there’s no such thing as bad weather; just bad clothing”. In summer holiday club we have swimming pools and small water guns on some dates throughout the summer (these are labelled as water days on the activities timetable but they are weather permitting). Therefore, you may wish to provide a swimming costume, towel and suitable footwear for your child. Please do not bring water guns, we will provide these. Can you also ensure your child has a hat to wear and suntan lotion applied before arrival if it’s a hot day. If you would like sun tan lotion topped up throughout the day please could you provide this. Scooters and small bicycles are permitted providing your child has a helmet to wear: “NO HELMET, NO SCOOTER”.

Please note that sports and activities are optional and children do not have to engage in them if they do want to. The timetable is subject to
some change if necessary.
Free play: Where the children follow their own interests and decide what they would like to do from the activities available, e.g. painting, drawing,
Lego etc.
8.00 – 9.00 am Free play inside.
9.00 – 10.10 am Cooking and free play inside and outside.
10.10 – 10.30 am Snack time.
10.30 – 12.15 pm Cooking and free play inside and outside.
12.15 – 1.00 pm Lunchtime.
1.00 - 3.15 pm Set activity and free play inside and outside.
3.15 – 3.45 pm Snack time.
3.45 – 4.30 pm Sports/games/parachute on the field or playground. Free play on the field and apparatus.
4.30 – 4.45 pm Party games/ mini disco/ free play.
4.45 – 5.00 pm Story for younger children.
5.00 – 6.00 pm Film.

For t-shirt decorating days, children will need to bring their own t shirts. Any junk modelling resources (toilet paper rolls, cereal boxes etc.) would be welcomed and appreciated. Water days are weather permitting. Please bring towels, swimming costumes, appropriate footwear and apply suntan lotion. Please note activities may change if necessary. If you do not wish your child to take part in an activity please let us know.
Themed days PIRATE THEMED DAY: Come in dressed as a pirate and take part in a treasure hunt and other pirate themed activities. PRINCESSES, KNIGHTS AND WIZARDS THEMED DAY: Come in dressed as a princess, knight or wizard and have fun creating your own shield, crown or wand. Plus other themed activities.
SHOWBUSINESS THEMED DAY: Come in dressed as a pop star, movie star, dancer etc. Children can create their own instrument from boxes, make music with instruments, create their own movie with the fancy dress costumes, and use the mats and ribbons to create their own dance. SPORTS AND GYMNASTICS THEMED DAY: Children will be supervised using the apparatus and the mats. If children bring in a t shirt they can create their own sports t shirt, and take part in different games throughout the day. FAIRYTALES THEMED DAY: Come in dressed as your favourite fairy-tale character. Create your own notebook or storybook cover out of cardboard and crafts resources, and take part in other themed activities. AROUND THE WORLD THEMED DAY: Activities will be themed around different counties from around the world.
DISNEY AND SUPERHEROES THEMED DAY: Come in dressed as your favourite Disney character or Superhero. Children can have fun designing their own superhero costume and other activities. ANIMALS THEMED DAY: Children can have their face painted like an animal of their choice.
Prices: Full Day £27.50 (9am-5pm) Half Day £16.50 (9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm) Breakfast Club £3.50 (8am-9am) Late Club £3.50 (5pm-6pm Please return the booking form by Friday 29th June with a cheque made payable to Fairfield School or payment by BACS. SUMMER FOREST SCHOOL
Forest school is being run alongside holiday club. It is separate from holiday club and is run by different staff that specialise in delivering forest school. Forest school will run from 9.00am to 3.00pm on: Friday 13th July, Monday 16th July, Friday 20th July, Monday 23rd July, Tuesday 30th July, and Wednesday 1st August. Forest school is for children in KS1 and KS2 and there is limited availability. The cost is £30 per session. All children attending will need to be dropped to Fairfield playground where the staff running forest school will be waiting. Children will need to bring a water bottle, sun cream, sunhat and waterproofs. Snacks and lunch will be provided so a packed lunch is not necessary. If your child has any medical or dietary needs please put this on the information form. A range of activities will be included, such as den building, fire lighting, pond dipping, bug hunting, woodland craft and bushcraft skills. Please email if you have any questions or if you require additional care in holiday club outside of forest school 9.00am – 3.00pm hours.

Should you wish to cancel or amend your booking please ensure we have at least 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still be charged. You may book additional sessions at any time, however, we require a minimum of 48 hours notice to ensure that we have sufficient staff available; it will not be possible to just turn up on the day. There are a maximum of 16 places available per session. Charges are £27.50 for a full day or £16.50 for a single session. There will be an additional charge for Early/ Late care of £3.50 per child per day.
