Foreword

ThisbookletcollectsthelistofAUPfacultyachievementsfor2015.Itdemonstratestherichnessofourfaculty’sscholarlywork,whichisinternationallyrecognized,widelypublishedandgenerouslysponsoredbymanyorganizationsandprivategifts.

AUPfacultyresearchcoversawiderangeofsubjectsofbroadimpact.Itaddresses,oftenthroughinterdisciplinaryapproaches,pressingworldquestionsandscholarlyinquiries.ThecreativeproductionofAUPfacultyissociallyengagedandimmersedintheinternationalartisticarena.

Facultyandstudentcollaborationsproduceanenvironmentthatiscreative,inquisitiveandrigorous.AtAUPnewideascanbegeneratedandflourish;differentmethodsofinquiryarerespected;andavarietyofexperiences,beliefsandexpectationscanconstructivelycoexist,confronteachotherandcontributetothevibrantintellectualenvironmentofourcommunity.

Inatimewhendifferenceisincreasinglyclaimedasadriverforseparation,AUPfacultyachievementsshowthatdifferencecanbetheforcethatunites.Itis,infact,theconditionforfulfillingourmissiontoprovideastudent-centered,career-enabling,andtransformativelearningenvironment,empoweringstudentstocrossbothdisciplinaryandculturalborderswitheaseinordertoassumetheirplacesintheworld.
