Human Resource Management Gilda Antonelli Course Level: I Semester: II Number or credits: 9 Teaching language: italian Course description Many managers and organizations now recognize that a critical source of competitive advantage often comes not from having the most ingenious product design, the best marketing strategy, or the most state-of-the-art production technology, but rather from having an effective system for obtaining, mobilizing and managing the organization’s human assets. This course has three central themes: (1) How to think systematically and strategically about aspects of managing the organization’s human assets, (2) What needs to be done to implement these policies and, if appropriate for a given organization, to achieve competitive advantage through people and (3) Which is the impact of the new Law of Labour on the job market. During the course will be discussed several topics as basic overviews of Human Resource Management; strategic execution and alignment; workforce planning; specifying jobs and roles; recruiting and selecting new employees; benefits and compensation; training and career development; leadership development management; training and development; employee performance management; group performance management; retaining employees and others.
