LEARNING OUTCOME
This second Faculty development programme has been designed with an aim to train and
develop faculty members in the area of Entrepreneurship Development so that they can act as
'Resource Persons' in guiding and motivating young students, particularly from engineering
& technology stream, to take up Entrepreneurship as their career.
Inputs were imparted through: Lecture-cum discussion; Case studies, role plays; Interaction with experts in
entrepreneurship development; opportunity guidance with successful entrepreneurs for
practical insights; Study visits to small enterprises; Group work and practice sessions.
Various topics to be covered:
Communication & Presentation; Leadership; Why Entrepreneurship: Entrepreneurship-
Concept; Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship in India; Design Thinking, A Matter Of
Attitude And Skill; Business Environment Scanning; Business Plan Preparation; Project
Identification & Opportunity guidance; Role of R & D Institute in Entrepreneurship
Development; Start-up Spirit; Marketing Strategy And Sales Techniques; Market survey:
tools and techniques; Accounts And Book- Keeping; EDPs in India- role of DST (NSTEDB)
and other promotional institutions; Bigdata analytics for business; Power of Failing &
Discovering Early; Entrepreneurial Teacher; Patentability requirement in India; Patent Search
& Drafting; Problem solving & decision making ; Problems & Issues in the management of
SSI units; and more.
All participants were given assignment (to be submitted & presented in a group of 02)
under the title – Idea Pitching (10 minutes) so that we can understand how much they
have learnt from the deliberations in 02 weeks & will be helpful in guiding students to
prepare business plan.
