advanced.jhu.edu/ govmba Learn more and apply online Master of Arts in Government/MBA ABOUT THE PROGRAM The innovative Master of Arts in Government/MBA dual degree prepares managers to move between the public and private sectors, or work for agencies that span the two. The program combines the public sector management strengths learned in the MA in Government Program with the private sector business savvy acquired in the MBA. This program bridges the traditional separation of business leadership and public sector management. It aims to advance students’ knowledge of government and politics, ethics, global economics, financial theory, and management, and set graduates apart from the competition. Students who pursue the dual MA/MBA degree will take classes in the MA in Government program at the School of Arts and Sciences and in the MBA program at the Carey Business School. MA in Government courses are held in Dupont Circle, in the heart of Washington, DC; as well as online. MBA courses can be taken at four Carey campuses: Columbia, MD; Rockville, MD; Baltimore, MD; and Washington, DC. APPLICATION INFORMATION Students apply for admission to both programs through the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, Advanced Academic programs. Completed applications are reviewed by both schools. CURRICULA Students pursuing the dual degree are required to take ten 4-credit courses for the MA, and twenty-one 2-credit courses for the MBA. MBA courses meet once per week for eight weeks (three hours each session). ABout the ProGrAM

The innovative Master of Arts in Government/MBA dual degree prepares managers to move between the public and private sectors, or work for agencies that span the two.
