PROJECT SCHEDULE The design phase of this project began in August 2018. The construction phase of the project is slated to begin in January 2019 and scheduled for completion in September 2019. AFFECTED MUNICIPALITIES City of Miami Gardens LANE CLOSURE AND DETOUR INFORMATION This project is designed to have two lanes always open in each direction. All lane closures on NW 199 Street will be coordinated with Miami-Dade County Traffic Engineering Department. All lane closures on the Turnpike Connector Road will be coordinated with Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise. During construction, complete closures will be limited to off-peak hours between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday. ALWAYS PUT SAFETY FIRST For your safety and the safety of others, please use caution when driving around any construction zone. While driving, wearing a seat belt is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes. While the Florida Department of Transportation, the City of Miami Gardens and Hard Rock Stadium take steps to reduce construction impacts, you might experience travel lane closures, increased dust and noise and workers and equipment moving around the work zone.
