Additional Pressure indicator and transmitter (with tag no 1400) installed on the pump discharge for process monitoring form DCS panel. It also equipped with Pressure Switch High (PSH) and Pressure Switch Low (PSH) that will automatically shutdown the pump if the operating pressure not within the range of PSL and PSH.

A spool modification is required to install the pump system. Pump will be placed between chemical injection point and sampling connection (SC-1415).

Pump will be operated automatically based on the liquid level inside the separator. Project team decided to modify existing transmitter connected to LV-1405 and convert as the liquid level input for the pump operation. LV-1405 will be removed and replaced with a 1” manual gate valve and tagged with a lock open to ensure no blockage for the pump during operation.

The pump will be operated on a liquid level range set between Level Switch Low (LSL) and Level Switch High (LSH). It means the pump will automatically on if the liquid level already reach LSH number and will automatically turned off if the liquid level reach LSL number. For system protection, Level Switch Low Low (LSLL) and Level Switch High High (LSHH) set at a certain number to trigger process shutdown type A. Actual liquid level, LSL, LSH, LSLL, and LSLL reading is shown on the DCS panel.

For piping related modification, since the pump had a 1 ½” suction and 2” discharge, a reducer need to be installed so the pump can fit with existing pipe size. A check valve also installed at the downstream of pressure indicator to ensure no back flow to the pump system.

You are assigned to modify existing P&ID (named P&ID production separator) based on the description above. Symbol database file also provided as reference for drawing modification. In case no additional detail information available from the description above, some assumption can be made and put on a note section.

Note: For helping the review process, the revised item or added item need to be put inside clouded area and since not all project team have an access to autocad, the modified P&ID need to be exported to pdf file
