Objective:
This 3 day Training Program is for the intended use of Meriden Corporate Trainers to provide
training to Meriden Employees for the EMR SEEKNO system implementation. Trainees will be
Given an assessment to determine eligibility for system access. Trainer must pass the
assessment to gain access to the SEEKNO system.
Prerequisites:
End users should have general knowledge of basic computer skills, and have an in depth
understanding of the Healthcare Revenue Cycle.

• Transactional DistanceIt is imperative that the instructor is engaged throughout the length of the course, communication is the foundation of online learning. Student-teacher dialogue is minimal in online learning, however the structure of the course will allow a learner to succeed.
• InteractionMotivation from the instructor will serve as positive interaction for the learner, this will allow for feedback upon the submission of assignments. Learner to learner interaction will allow learners to communicate about assignments and collaboration projects.
• ControlLearners have the freedom to set their schedules as they see fit, online education requires discipline and persistence.
• Social ContextTechnology evolves everyday, learners must stay engaged with new technology as this will allow learners to utilize additional outlets to complete assignments.

Tools| Mentoring Program for
Faculty 12
The mentoring program will provide Skills Development
and Problem Solving for Faculty. Additionally, Faculty
should have at least 1 year of distance education experience,
and have at least 5 classes taught successfully. The criteria
of success will be based upon the success of those taught
under their supervision, and the feedback of the learners
from the training sessions. Mentors must have at 1 year of
experience in any mentorship program.

The evaluation program will be comprised of the following:

The learning platform will be a Learning Management
System. Facilitators will be able to utilize “Blackboard” to
present course information, lectures and videos. There will
be weekly classroom discussion questions totaling (3) per
week. Blackboard Learning Management System enables
student to instructor interaction for private discussions, in
addition to the learner’s ability to post assignments online.
The instructor will be able to provide feedback and grading
on the submitted assignments.

enhance student learning:
o Audio: YouTube | Oral presentation of the system.
o Video: Captivate | Visual demonstration of system
functionality.
o Games and Simulations: LifeSaver for CPR certification

regarding assignments.

Classroom management issues and resolutions:
o Synchronous Facilitation Skills: Together at the same time (i.e. instant messaging, online conferencing etc.).
oAsynchronous Facilitation Skills: Time

Learner Feedback Will be via: Messages: The facilitator will
provide messages to the learner in their inbox.
Challenging Behaviors: Inappropriate post will not be
tolerated. Policy violators will be removed from the group, and repeat offenders will be dropped from the class.
