AIRPLANE EQUIPPED WITH FMS COLLINS 6100 SOFTWARE SCID 832-4117-025 AND AVIONICS COLLINS VERSION 6.1
AFTER INCORPORATION OF MODIFICATIONS M1806 AND M1649 Serial No : Registration No : This supplement must be attached to the DTM537 Airplane Flight Manual approved by the DGAC on November 30, 1994, when the airplane incorporates M1806 and M1649. The information contained in this supplement, supplements that of sections 1 thru 5 and annexes. The limitations, procedures and performance information which do not appear in this supplement remain these of sections 1 thru 5 and annexes.

LIMITATIONS
GENERAL Each FMS computer software must be identified 832-4117-025 on the CDU page STATUS 1/2.
AC 20-130A AND AC 20-129 The FMS’s comply with AC 20-130A and in particular meet the accuracy criteria of AC 20-130A for en-route, terminal and approach areas provided the FMS is not in Dead Reckoning (FMS DR in PFD and in CDU) and is not in a degraded navigation mode (CHK POS message in PFD and MFD and in CDU, related to a sensor required for the current phase of flight), and satisfy the accuracy criteria of AC 20-129.
MNPS The minimum navigation performance required by NAT MNPS regulations (French ”arrêté of November 5th, 1987 and FAR Part 91, Appendix C) are demonstrated provided that there are at least, operating on board, 2 FMS’s and: - 2 IRS’s in NAV mode or - 2 GPS or - 1 IRS in NAV mode and 1 GPS.
OCEANIC / REMOTE OPERATIONS Dual FMS COLLINS 6100 software with 2 GPS 4000 series system as installed, has been found to comply with the requirements for GPS primary means of navigation in oceanic and remote airspace as defined by FAA Order 8110.60 when used in conjunction with the P/N CDN 832-3443-002 or later approved prediction program.
GPS EN ROUTE AND TERMINAL OPERATIONS FMS COLLINS 6100 with GPS 4000 series, as installed, has been found to comply with the requirements for the use of GPS for domestic en-route, and terminal area operations as defined in JAA Leaflet No 3 REV 1 when used in conjunction with traditional navigation system.
GPS STAND ALONE APPROACHES Dual FMS COLLINS 6100 with two GPS 4000 series as installed, has been found to comply with GPS Stand Alone approaches requirements as defined in JAA Leaflet No 3 REV 1 when predictive RAIM is checked before arriving at both the FAF and the MAP. The here-above statements are valid if there is no FMS and/or GPS related failure message/label on PFD and CDU. This does not constitute an operational approval.
LIMITATIONS COLLINS 6100 navigation must be periodically verified during the flight by comparison with the other means of navigation. FUEL, TIME prediction information are provided for advisory purposes only and must not be used for flight planning. FMS must not be used for navigation above 80° North and below 80° South latitudes. For airplane fitted with GPS 4000 or later, conventional IFR approved navigation equipment must be available to continue the flight when RAIM is lost.

WARNING
IN ORDER TO PREVENT RISK OF FMS LOCKUP: - IN A SINGLE FMS CONFIGURATION OR SIMULTANEOUSLY ON BOTH FMS THE SELECTION OF THE FOLLOWING MFD DISPLAYS IS PROHIBITED: - LRN POSITION OVERLAY IN THE NAVIGATION FORMATS, - POS SUMMARY TEXT PAGE, - LRN STATUS TEXT PAGE.
HOLD FUNCTION: - THE DEFAULT SPEED LIMITS PROPOSED BY THE FMS ARE BASED ON ICAO DOC 8168, VOL II, THIRD AND FOURTH EDITIONS CAT C RECOMMENDATIONS. - WHEN INSERTING A HOLD PATTERN IN THE FLIGHT PLAN, CHECK HOLDING SPEED LIMIT TO COMPLY WITH THE RELEVANT SPEED LIMITATIONS. CAUTION : DO NOT INSERT MANUALLY A SPEED GREATER THAN 220 KT IN THE ACT LEGS PAGE.
IN CASE OF FMS LOCKUP REFER TO THE OPERATING MANUAL - PROCEDURES (3–331–1).
APPROACH Use of the FMS during approach is forbidden: - Except for:
- Published RNAV procedures. - A transcription of a published VOR, VOR/DME or NDB approach procedures. - A transcription of a published GPS overlay approach procedure (Based on VOR, VOR/DME,
NDB, NDB/DME or RNAV). - GPS Stand alone approaches.
- If the navaids specified in the procedures are not available and displayed on the EFIS and actively monitored by the crew.
- If the APPR or GPS APPR annunciation in the PFD is not green 2 NM before the FAF. - If one of the CHK POS (related to the sensor used for the Approach) or FMS DR or NO APPR
annunciations is illuminated yellow in the PFD. APPR and SID / STAR must be selected from the navigation data base.
NOTE
If GPS’s are not available, NDB approaches cannot be performed using FMS.
VNAV - Observing the Minimum Safe Altitude and obstacles clearances remains a crew responsibility.
DOMESTIC EN-ROUTE - For airplane fitted with GPS 4000 series or later, when integrity is lost, FMS navigation must be
periodically verified by comparison with conventional IFR navigation means.

NORMAL PROCEDURES
For navigation computer with software identified 832-4117-025 on CDU pages STATUS.
GENERAL If operations are based on GPS only, check FDE for oceanic operations and P-RAIM for approaches before flight. Check waypoints and altitude constraints using published charts (SID, STAR, APP, GA). Constantly check the trajectory compared to the published procedure by displaying on the EFIS the navaids provided for in the procedure.
LATERAL NAVIGATION - Select the NAV SOURCE FMS on the coupled side. - Engage LNAV mode.
VERTICAL NAVIGATION - In order to engage the VNAV mode, select the NAV SOURCE FMS on the coupled side. - Check altimeter setting on the coupled side (the FMS uses the altitude information given on the
PFD on the coupled side). - Engage VNAV mode.
APPROACH (NON PRECISION APPROACH) - Select a non precision approach from FMS Navigation data base. - Engage LNAV and VNAV modes as needed. - Check APPR or GPS APPR is illuminated green on PFD at less than 2 NM before the FAF to
inform the crew that the system is configured properly to conduct (non precision) approach, using FMS for navigation.
- When VGP mode is captured, move the ASEL to the go-around altitude.
HOLDING PATTERN
CAUTION
The FMS does not always take into account the published maximum Holding Pattern speed.
- Adapt and stabilize the airplane speed 2 minutes prior the airplane overflies the fix for the first time. - Check that the FMS message CHECK SPEED on the CDU and the SPD annunciation in PFD are
out when passing the entry point. - When exiting a Holding Pattern, check that EXIT ARMED is annunciated in the CDU.
NOTE
When exiting a Holding Pattern, the HOLD annunciation remains displayed on the PFD, until the airplane reaches the fix.

GO-AROUND - Activate the go-around procedure by depressing the GO AROUND pushbutton on the control
column (the MISSED APPROACH procedure is then automatically displayed in the MFD). - Reselect the NAV SOURCE FMS. - Select or check ASEL at the required altitude. - Engage LNAV and VNAV as needed.
