D ear Editor:

I wish to ta k e th is m eans of publicly thanking you lo r par* m itting me to express m y views recently in the colum ns of your paper. I read the o ther views in your paper both those along my own thoughts and those opposed.

I w as very much im pressed w ith your paper’s stand and feel a lot m ore could be done along

"the liney of economical operation and supervision of our school system.

As you so aptly put it. th e g reat people who em erge from our or •my school system do no t excell because of ideal schooling and teaching, b u t because they have tha t spark th a t puts them out in front even in the face of obstacles

I t is a laughing m atter, in the various county trade council meetings, la tely w hen the teachers’ representatives so earnestly sought the help of all A. F. of L organized labor in the ir plea for h igher salaries and o ther conditions. This was very ab rup tly changed w hen they felt we had .wrved the ir in terests to the u tmost and they p repared to take over control of these county trade council meetings.

In H udson County they w ere very plain spoken apd said to the body w e should be thankfu l they w ere now a p a r t of our council, because now w e had some brains in the group who would show us the wav from here qn in.

Needless to say th is uncalled for show of egotism was prom ptly nipped and they w ere relegated to an equal position in the council.
