. From basic information Facebook is trying to enter in the China Market to gain more users.
This will also aim to support the hypothesis of Facebook entering the market successfully by
conforming to Chinas laws and regulations or changing the face of Chinas Market altogether.
Executive Summary
One of the world's largest internet markets could be out of reach of Facebook because of the
Chinese government's strict censorship policies and tight regulation on internet use for
Facebook and other social networking sites. The China market, which already has popular
home social networking sites; dont want to open its market for Facebook to enter.
Gossip on Facebook entering the Chinese market started in late 2010 when the company's
CEO Mark Zuckerberg visited several major IT firms in the country. To enter the country's
market Facebook would have to abide by China's censorship laws, which force sites to delete
content critical of the government welfare if need it. Besides Facebook, some other Internet
sites like YouTube, Twitter and MySpace are currently blocked in the country as well.
In spite of being blocked in the country, Facebook still has successful story to tell. Recently,
Facebook open their largest valuation to date for a newly listed public company in the
information technology world. Also, Facebook bought several small companies to increase their
revenue share and competitive edge in the social media market. All these great accomplishment
that recently happen this year doesnt make China open their regulation policies.
When determining should Facebook enter to China market, there are several key challenges
they will seek. Facebook would face the same factors that have led to the failure of many
foreign Internet companies in China such as: local competition, murky government...
The stage at the FacebookSaint Anselm College debates in 2008.
Facebook's role in the American political process was demonstrated in January 2008, shortly before
theNew Hampshire primary, when Facebook teamed up withABC andSaint Anselm College to allow
users to give live feedback about the "back to back" January 5 Republican and Democratic
debates.[307][308][309]
Charles Gibson moderated both debates, held at the Dana Center for the Humanities
at Saint Anselm College. Facebook users took part in debate groups organized around specific topics,
register to vote, and message questions.[310]
ABCNews.com reported in 2012 that the Facebook fanbases of political candidates have relevance for
the election campaign, including:
Allows politicians and campaign organizers to understand the interests and demographics of their
Facebook fanbases, to better target their voters.
Provides a means for voters to keep up-to-date on candidates' activities, such as connecting to the
candidates' Facebook Fan Pages.

Over a million people installed the Facebook application "US Politics on Facebook" in order to take part,
and the application measured users' responses to specific comments made by the debating
candidates.[311]
This debate showed the broader community what many young students had already
experienced: Facebook as a popular and powerful new way to interact and voice opinions. An article by
Michelle Sullivan of Uwire.com illustrates how the "Facebook effect" has affected youth voting rates,
support by youth of political candidates, and general involvement by the youth population in the 2008election.

In January 2011, Facebook played a major role in generating the first spark for the 2011 Egyptian
revolution.[315][316]
On January 14, the Facebook page of "We are all khaled Said" was started by Wael

government of Prime MinisterNazif to ban Facebook, Twitter and another websites on January
26[317]
then ban all mobile and Internet connections for all of Egypt at midnight January 28. After 18 days,
the uprising forced PresidentMubarak to resign.
In 2011, Facebook filed paperwork with theFederal Election Commission to form apolitical action
committee under the name FB PAC.[318]
In an email toThe Hill,a spokesman for Facebook said "FB PAC
will give our employees a way to make their voice heard in the political process by supporting candidates
who share our goals of promoting the value of innovation to our economy while giving people the power
to share and make the world more open and connected."[319]

development of a series of on-the-ground projects
(It is true there are other social networks that could be used to socialize such as watsapp and viber but
facebook is predominantly the most publically used one with more than 1 billion users)
. You can also say it empowers the people and makes it easier to organise social movements/protests
(this form of organising protests is call horizontalisation, as there is no leader to it). You can evaluate this
and flip it on its head and say maybe socially damaging movements can gain support too.
People can play games once in awile.

Facebook is only an arena for bullying, like the school lunch hall or the
playground. No one is trying to ban under-13s from those places." Joanna
Moorhead said this in her debate with Jenni Russell.
