Stolle has improved the ink station design for the Concord Decorator by relocating the air cylinder for the ductor roll from inside the ink station to outside. This not only makes it easier to access the air cylinder for maintenance, but it will help protect the cylinder from contamination by ink. In each ink station, the air cylinder moves the ductor roll to transfer ink from the fountain roll to the first steel roll. The heavier the ink coverage required for the particular color, the more frequently the air cylinder cycles the ductor roll.
The new external ductor roll air cylinder will be standard on all new Concord Decorator inker stations, and is available as a retrofit for exisiting decorators (part number 222085682). One air cylinder assembly will be needed for each ink station on the decorator.
