    1) Adjust the tripod legs so that a height suitable for surveying isobtained when the instrument is set on the tripod

    2) A Set the tripod and fix the metal shoe firmly into the ground

so thatthe tripod head is as level as possible and centered above the

stationpoint. If the tripod head is disturbed by the action of fixing the

metalshoe into the ground, correct the level by extending or

    retracting eachleg of the tripod.

    3) Set the instrument on the tripod head; insert the tripod centerscrew

into the instrument bottom plate and tighten firmly.

    Instructions on inspection and adjustment

Inspection and adjustment should be doneafter setting the instrument on a tripod or onan adjustment stand. Inspection should be done sequentially from[6.2 Plate vial] to [6.5 Perpendicularity of line

of sight to horizontal axis] Adjustments should be finished withadjustment screws having been tightened andwith firm torque. Do not finish by loosening anadjustment screw.

Repeat inspection after adjustment andconfirm if the adjustment is performedcorrectly. It is recommended that a trained professional

    perform adjustments, if possible.

Perpendicularity of circular vial to vertical axis

Inspection1. Confirm if the bubble of the circular vial is in the

center after the inspection and adjustment of [6.2Plate vial].

    2. No adjustment is necessary if the bubble of thecircular vial is in the center but if not, the followingadjustment is required.

Adjustment1. Move bubble to the center by rotating the bubble

adjusting screws, using the adjusting pin.2. Inspect again.

    Difference of the vertical angle

InspectionSet the vertical angle in Zenith 0 mode

Sight an object (Point P) with the telescope and read

    the vertical angle (V correct).

Reverse the telescope and rotate the alidade.

Sight point P again in the reverse position and read the

    vertical angle (V reverse).

At this time, when (V correct + V reverse - 360)/2 isless than 15, it is within tolerance. If it shows a larger

value, it needs adjustment - Consult your dealer.
