A • Review the type of data needed for the research project• Review on how the data needs to be formatted on the table

S • Be prepared to answer comprehension questions
Your table should look something like this:

3x5 Cards – Do’s• Put your name on the back of each card• Clip them together and leave them in
the box at the end of class• Ask (politely) for more when you need
them.
3x5 Cards – Don’ts• Leave them lying around• Bend, fold, mutilate or throw them• Take them home without permission• Use them for ANYTHING but work in
this class
Your topics go top-center (only 2-4 words maximum)
• Start by writing the relevant information about these topics on these three cards first

• This means:– It relates directly to the importance or

understand the importance of the invention– Helps us understand why it was invented– It’s not obvious!

When you have your printed table,
• create a card for each entry in your own words!
• At the end of class, clip your cards together and leave your finished cards here in the box

C• Work independently with a minimum of talking• Asking and answering questions of seat neighbors pertaining to the
project at hand is permitted
H• BEFORE you raise your hand and summon Mr. Jamieson• Ask your seat neighbor a question in a low tone of voice• Backtrack three steps if it still doesn’t work• Raise hand and ask for assistance from teacher – do not get out of
your seat
A • Continue to collect information on your tables about your person.
M• Remain in seat unless getting a tissue or to sharpen your pencil• If you have finished, you may assist other students ONLY AFTER
getting Mr. Jamieson’s permission
P • Work independently and quietly• May assist or seek assistance from seat neighbor
S • Complete today’s project in a timely manner
Continue to add data to your table. Be sure to use at least three websites and
no more than five
Today on your laptops• If you have not finished your table, do so.
Be sure the topics you find are relevant.• Don’t search for information using
Google. Use the suggested topics in Google Classroom as you guide
• If you have finished your table, come to Mr. J to review it and print it out
• DO NOT work on your cards before Mr. J has seen and printed your table
