• Why Distribution Tables

CA Deliver lacks flexibility when defining report and distribution criteria

Hundreds if not thousands of report and distribution definitions may be required.

Using new table method to distribute report pages will:

Use a single report definition, the report data and distribution table to determine how report

pages are distributed.

Introduce flexibility as to how report pages are distributed (include/exclude filtering)

Reduce the maintenance overhead associated with maintaining report and distribution

definitions.

Single report definition archived to CA View.


Report Distribution Today

Todays method of distributing report pages to a recipient may require hundreds and in

some cases thousands, individual report definitions being defined and administered.

Using Distribution Tables with Dynamic Reports will significantly reduce admin overhead


CA Deliver: Distribution Tables Introduction

• Distribution Tables define how report pages are to be distributed

• Use variables to determine how a page should be distributed.

• The dynamic report definition associates a value to a variable

• The values in each position on the page is compared with the table value to

determine whether or not the page should be distributed.

• Entire report containing ALL pages archived to CA View

• No UNDEF report for unmatched pages.

• In CA View, distribution criteria is applied only for EXP mode. In ALL and EXPO

modes, ALL pages are displayed

• Batch utilities RMODBB, RMOGRW have been enhanced

• TDISTID, TVDATA1-3, TVNAME1-3…….more

What we covered so far showed how simple it is to distribute pages of a report using dynamic

reports and distribution tables.
