Experimenting with Kid Pix
Kid Pix Toolbar
The toolbar along the bottom will change as you select different tools. Let’s try it!
Toolbar ToolsWacky Pencils Draws free-form lines
Line Tool Draws straight lines
Rectangle Draws rectangles with various patterns
Oval Draws ovals in various patterns
Wacky Brush Offers you choices for painting spirals
Paint Can Fills all or part of your picture with colors and fun patterns
Electric Mixer Transform/change your drawing
Eraser Two kinds of erasers- first four work like pencil erasers; click the mouse to erase part of your picture; other erasers erase the whole picture
Talking Alphabet Stamps
Stamps letters, numbers, and punctuation marks on the pictures
Typewriter Provides the following options: edit the text without changing the pictures; hear the text read out loud; drag text around, resize or reshape it; draw under the text without erasing it

• To save a picture, create a BMP (Windows) file that you can open in Kid Pix.
• Be sure and name your project.• Click save to save the file. Kid Pix will save files to the
“My Pix” folder on the hard drive unless you navigate to a different folder.

Create a new folder.
Save your work.
Make a title picture.
Then make your picture or import pictures.
Click save.
Begin making pictures for the Slideshow.
