WELCOME TO ! CONGRATS ON YOUR DECISION TO BE AN LSU TIGER! College is an exciting journey and we are happy to be on it with you. Your student orientation program will help you learn more about LSU, your new home. You will meet your fellow classmates, schedule classes, and learn about the available resources to help you succeed.
Both student and family orientations are led by LSU Ambassadors who are trained to provide a successful orientation experience for our incoming students and families.
How do I register for classes? This required program is designed for all entering freshmen who will start classes in the fall. During the one-day session, you will be advised on your course schedule and register classes for the fall semester.
“My experience attending freshman orientation was phenomenal. I was pretty nervous about coming to LSU, as I really didn't know anyone coming here; however, going through orientation and seeing what a positive and welcoming environment LSU was made everything worthwhile. It was because of orientation, actually, that I decided to become an LSU Ambassador!”

SIGN ME UP
Before your on-campus orientation experience, we strongly encourage you to complete LSU’s Online Pre-Orientation Program so you are well prepared for your visit. You can access the program at mylsuorientation.lsu.edu.
2018 Schedule Options There are 12 sessions of orientation, but not all colleges participate in each session. It’s important for you to select a session when your major is offered. If you choose to change your major after you’ve registered online, don't worry. Just give us a call and we can help you sign up for a different session.
Attention Honors Students: Students in the Honors College are encouraged to select sessions 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, or 12.
If you’re really not sure about your major, feel free to sign up for one of the undeclared sessions. Or, if you change your major on the day of your scheduled session, we will make accommodations through our Center for Freshman Year to help you get scheduled for classes. Our goal is to make your experience as stress-free as possible.

Getting Registered for OrientationAll entering freshmen who have paid their enrollment deposit will receive an email inviting them to register for orientation. Students who have not paid their enrollment deposit, but would like to register for orientation may do so by visiting lsu.edu/experience and selecting the Orientation Experience tab.
Using the online registration link included in your email, you will be able to view the online orientation application and all orientation session dates available. Reservations for each session are limited. Once a session date fills to capacity, it is closed. Please do not make travel plans until you have received confirmation from the Experience LSU office. A confirmation email will be sent the next business day after a successful registration and a reminder email will be sent a few days before your scheduled orientation program. This email will contain helpful information such as parking instructions and an agenda for the day. The priority deadline to register for orientation is May 1, 2018.

FAMILY ORIENTATION
As you continue to support your students from enrollment to graduation, it is important that you also know the programs, services, and resources available here at LSU. We are here for you too, which is why we’ve created a special orientation program just for families! You don’t want to miss this full day of learning what LSU has to offer students and families during their time at LSU.
• Tour the Residence Hall where your student will be living.
• Learn how meal plans and TigerCASH work.
• Be in the know about financial aid and scholarships.
• Meet other LSU parents and hear the advice they have for incoming families firsthand.
• Learn how to join the Family Association and about the events offered for families throughout the year!
RegistrationFamily members interested in registering for orientation should register at the same time your student completes his/her orientation registration. Up to two family members may pre-register to attend any orientation session that your student attends.
Please note: Family Orientation is a separate program from the student orientation program. While family members and students will separate for part of the program, they will also have the opportunity to attend select sessions together.
If your student has already completed registration and would like to edit his/her registration to add family members, he/she should log into the myLSU account, and select the “Edit Family Registration” button.
COSTS
How much does orientation cost? The LSU orientation experience costs $140, plus a 2.5 percent nonrefundable credit card processing fee. Your orientation experience includes access to our online pre-orientation program, a light breakfast, lunch, parking, and other program materials.
