W H AT W I L L YO U R PAT H LO O K L I K E ?

The Leadership Development Program is based on rotations customized to guide your learning process.

¢ FIELD: While in this field management role, you will gain experience with the skills and tools required to successfully manage a construction project. You will coordinate subcontractors and take responsibility for a building, structure or aspect of the project while building upon your safety management and Lean Pull Planning knowledge.

¢ OFFICE: This rotation will test and fine-tune your technical, communication and problem-solving capabilities. You will gain experience with all project documentation including contracts, purchase orders, change orders, requisitions and submittals while building strong relationships with subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners.

¢ SCHEDULING: This rotation provides a thorough understanding of scheduling and the strategies of project planning and control. You will build schedules that drive the critical path, goals and activities of each job. You will develop a strong understanding of project details and learn advanced techniques such as resource loading, recovery planning and customized reporting.

¢ ESTIMATING: Whether the project is a water treatment plant, an academic building or a hydroelectric dam, the estimating team sees it and builds it first – virtually. During this rotation you will work closely with an estimating mentor to interpret project drawings, compile project estimates and participate in each aspect of the bid cycle from initial plan review to bid day.

¢ VIRTUAL CONSTRUCTION AND JOB COST: These rotations provide an opportunity to gain basic 3D modeling skills, learn best practices regarding the use of virtual construction and building information modeling, and understand how and why we create budgets and track costs.
