EEC101L Experiment #1 Familiarization with DC instruments
Submitted to: Engr. Raguindin
Exercise Title: The DC Ammeter
Objectives:
1. To measure current by using a basic meter movement2. To verify ammeter operation by using known values of current.
Equipment Required:
1- F.A.C.E.T Base Unit1- DC Fundamentals Circuit Board2- 15Vdc Power Supply1- DC Milliammeter Module1- Multimeter
Theory:
The ammeter is an instrument that measures current. Whether you measure current in amperes or milliamperes, the meter must be placed in series with the circuit and must be connected in the correct polarity.
Experiment Set-Up
Data Analysis:
During our Experiment, we are instructed to familiarize with DC instruments. These Instruments are F.A.C.E.T Base Unit and DC Fundamentals circuit board.
Based on the procedure given to us we adjusted the positive supply to Vdc at the Voltmeter/Ammeter/Ohmmeter circuit block and we are asked to get the values needed in the experiment and compute for the 5 error of the 4thResistor and 8th Resistor with a voltage drop of 2.3V. We also measured the current by using a basic meter movement and verified ammeter operation.
Conclusions:
We learned the Operation of the multimeter to measure resistance, voltage, and current in our circuit.
