CLASSIC ICONIC TIMELESS INVESTMENT LESS IS MORE

We have decided for our focus to be on Mid Century Modern furniture, and bringing the notion of furniture being timeless, and iconic to the forefront. As a customer, you would want to purchase a piece of furniture that won’t go out of style, so why not emphasize classic pieces and create a lifestyle for them.

INSPIRATION

Gaining inspiration from the classic Maxell add, showing the iconic le corbusier chair, we decided to recreate this scene with a modern twist. We also looked at the prominent image of rock and rollBy modifying it slighty, we plan on making it relatable to those that are both familiar and unfamiliar with the ad. Given the ‘rock n’ roll’ feel of this era, we looked into other forms that we could relate to the window.

Maxell commercial using le corbusier chair

1. We began by looking at the furniture, thinking about how to display it and the lifestyle this furniture fits into 2. Main inspirations: materials – black leather, metal, ect. Style – mid-century modern, iconic pieces3. Style words: Timeless, a record in time, never out of style, classic cool, rock & roll4. Design words; Clean, focused, stressing the individuality of the pieces

CONCEPT• We began by looking at the furniture, thinking about how to display it and the lifestyle this furniture fits

into• Materials: black leather• Style: mid-century modern/iconic pieces• Evokes: timelessness, a record of time, transcending time, never out of style, classic cool, Rock & RollAesthetic: clean, focused, emphasizing each object as an individual piece

Concept 1. Clean scene: emphasizing each object as an individual piece by simplifying the space and keeping it uncluttered (extremely important to marketing the furniture) 2. Living space: to scale, see yourself in the space, imagine the furniture in your home 3. Lifestyle: Rock & Roll theme, express your Inner rock star, (Still relating to the average person)

One of the important factors that aids in the success of a window display is a prevelant theme. By relating this vintage space to the rock n’ roll lifestyle, we needed a ‘catch phrase’ to relay the message to the public, hence the tag “amplify your living experience.’ This way the staging will be understood by all viewers, and allow them to envision a particular lifestyle for themselves if they were to purchase this furniture. 4. Timelessness: modernizing a vintage feel, what has been classically cool for generations is still cool today
