WORKING OUT IN THE GREAT INDOORS
Got four walls? No sweat. You’ve got all you need to get active. We’ve curated some tips to get you to your 10K-a-day step total without even leaving the house. And if exercising outdoors is more your style, check out some safety tips and rules to live by while sweating it out outside.
The STEPtember platform welomes all abilities, with more than 40 different activities you can convert into steps. Here are some of the indoor-friendly ones. (And if you don’t find your fave activity on our full chart , no worries. Just pick the one that’s closest to what you’re doing. Move in the ways that work for you.)
You can also take it up a notch by using items from your home as weights — like cleaning supplies or heavy cans from your pantry.

BREAK A SWEAT:GETTING ACTIVE AT HOME

Mask up. If you head outside for some fresh air, make sure you cover your nose and mouth with a mask unless you have a medical reason not to.
Six feet apart. Stay at least six feet away from those around you and respect everyone’s personal space.
Awareness is key. Make sure you’re aware of the social distancing regulations in your area before you head outside to exercise.
Give yourself a hand. You finished your workout. Awesome! Make sure you wash your hands and sanitize when you get home.
