Executive EducationCourse Calendar July - December 2013

What if the return was an increase in the efficiency of your organisation’s most important asset - you?

Change within an organisation can be gradual or radical, and agility is key to ensuring the changes are positive. We need to uncover new possibilities and opportunities to do things differently and better.

The highest risk you can take is not to risk at all. To rely on external factors to seal your fate is unwise. The ability to take calculated risks, be agile, make mistakes and learn from them is vital to your continued success.

To create those moments of insight and understand how to do things differently and better, we need to see ourselves, our opportunities and our challenges from new perspectives. We need to have new ideas.

To do this we need to learn, grow and be on a constant learning journey.

Return on learning

As you go through transition, change and growth, Executive Education provides the platform for you to do so effectively. It provides you with the toolkit to think.

So what do you think? And more importantly, what time have you put away to think, learn and see things from new perspectives?

Ivan Moss

Director of Executive Education

What does the R in ROI mean to you? With the financial struggle in the NZ economy, is a dollar amount the only key measure of return?

It’s been 10 years since I completed my MBA and I wanted a refresher on Project Management. My company is about to tackle a huge programme to implement technology across a large region, and I will be project managing from the vendor side.

I really enjoyed the course and thought Rob Verkerk was an excellent presenter. It helped me identify areas to focus on where I can make a difference and deliver the product on time, within scope and on budget.

Familiarising myself with the terminology and processes gave me the understanding and confidence to deal with full-time project managers. Rob was well qualified and had heaps of work experience, and his examples and anecdotes added value. He also provided us with simple Project Management

templates to use back in the workplace, and I’ve used these already to great effect. I would strongly recommend this short course to others.

I have been involved with refining the change process here at Revera and have discovered, thanks to course presenter Bryan Travers, that change does not have to be arduous.

Like in anything else, there needs to be a motivation for change – you need a reason or a goal. Usually something needs to happen first, such as self-awareness, before a person chooses to make changes to achieve something new. Successful people view change as an opportunity to improve and have mastered the art of converting negative feelings into positive energy.

The course helped me understand the need for building collaborative teams by defining a clear vision of what needs to change. In the past this hasn’t been easy, but thanks to Bryan I have learnt that people are the biggest asset in the change process and getting the right people behind you is vital.

Keith Morris Change Management Team Leader, Revera Limited. Change Management

Glodina Rogers Sales and Marketing Manager , Auckland Co-Op Taxis. Marketing Management

As a Sales and Marketing Mentor it is important for me to keep up to date with interests in my practice field. The course offered me a real refresher in marketing management and how to apply this in today’s market. It brought value to my interests in marketing and taught me to keep to the basic principles of business.

The course has taken me to a higher level in my organisation - I know I’ve become more customer focused, improving my personal relationships with all my key accounts and new business accounts.

Planning is now more efficient and focused on the different segments rather than creating a one-for-all marketing plan. This course boosted my confidence to take control of marketing in our organisation and my directors have seen a great improvement. Now I take care of business on a national level.
