Developmental Coaching ApproachThe Coaching Room’s Developmental Executive Coaching is a process that enables the Executive to become more aware of their current approach to situations, people and themselves.

It enables them to see with fresh eyes, new possibilities and then build sustainable new competencies to achieve the outcomes or objectives that deeply matter to them and their organisations.

The Coaching Room delivers its Developmental Executive Coaching programs through what we call ‘coaching cycles’. A coaching cycle contains 6 one-to-one (fortnightly) coaching conversations of 60 minutes each.

With every session or coaching conversation, there are 2 key components:

1. New seeing (insights, awareness) – these can be ah-ha moments and realisation of blind spots etc., and;2. New doings (actions, behaviours, practices) –include on-going practices to build the new muscles needed for the Executives’ Developmental and Coaching objectives.

The Intake Interview:This is conducted via Skype with TCR Managing Partner Joseph Scott after which, a suitable coach is then allocated to each client. This ensures best Coach/Client match.

Session 1: The Intake Session.

This session is an interview session where the Coach and Executive learn about each other, discuss what the Executive is interested in accomplishing and explore the possibilities of the coaching relationship, as well as the suitability of Developmental Coaching for the Executive’s outcome and objectives.

Together the Coach and Executive clarifies the Coaching Topic, sets the agenda for the cycle, including expectations for the coaching relationship.

Session 2: The Offer Session.

This session is where the Coach offers the Executive insights into how they see their current way of approaching their coaching topic, honoring what has worked and possibly what has not.

This is also an offer of the possible new way of seeing, going and checking - in relation to the coaching topic, providing key Developmental objectives and practices, to develop necessary competencies.

Session 3-5: Cycles of Development

These coaching conversations are about grounding the learning from sessions 1 and 2 into on-going cycles of development. All sessions are focused and delivered on behalf of the Executive’s coaching topic. They are progressive, moving from the Executive’s Current Way of Being toward developing into their newly acquired skillful means and competencies.

Session 6: The Cycle Completion

This final session in this program is about registering and counting specific new moves and competencies, realised throughout the program. Closing with a view to engaging a new cycle around a new topic or outcome or finalising the process here.

Coaching Approach Executive Coaching Plus™Incorporated into the Executive Development Program is Executive Coaching Plus – the inclusion of 2 additional x 15-minute meetings with the Executive’s Leader (or Board Director). These conversations occur prior to the cycle commencing and during the cycle completion session (or afterwards). These conversations are an opportunity to gain valuable insights into direction, as well as the Executive’s blind spots and Developmental opportunities. This process also helps to ensure that the coaching cycle is aligned with the desired organisational outcomes as well as the individual’s outcomes.

The Living 360™Feedback ProcessThe Coaching Room’s Living 360 process is a revolutionary approach to gaining high quality feedback from peers, colleagues, direct reports and managers. The quality comes from the Coach’s capacity to facilitate specific, measureable, evidence-based feedback that can be used to help the Executive’s growth and development. The Living 360 includes conversations with up to 6 people and is most often incorporated after session 2. The fee for the inclusion of the Living 360 is simply the forfeiture of a single coaching session.

Scales of CoachingEngagementA single 6-session cycle can address the needs for developing a new approach to a single incident or situation as well as multiple incidents, what we’d call a current patterned behaviour or attitude. One to two programs (6 -12 session cycle) can be necessary to realise a current approach and develop a new one in a given role or domain at work. Two to Four programs (12-24 session cycle) tends to occur organically, and usually we are working with and developing the Executive to find a new way of being across their entire life- often some behaviour, perspective or attitude that has been running them habitually for many years.

Ongoing ROI &Coaching EvidenceThe Developmental Coaching programme is reviewed at the end of every 3 sessions (by Coach and Executive) to review:1. Coaching direction – are we on track? Are we on topic?2. Realisation of objective results – creating and reviewing evidence based KPIs for the cycle (session 1)3. Return on investment evaluation – is the coaching delivering beyond the required level of value to ensure it is sustainable?

Coaching Lenses & DiagnosticsOur selective diagnostic instruments provide a sound, measureable basis for beginning your personal development and/or leadership journey. They also assist with creating objective awareness of your thinking (attitude), your sense of self (beliefs, values, identity) and your style and approach (behaviours). They provide a realistic assessment.

The Enneagram Personality ProfileThe Enneagram personality tool is used to facilitate awareness of the Executive’s Current Way of Being (CWOB) in terms of habituated thinking patterns, attitude, behaviours, responses and reactions to people and situations.

The Self Review process and Well Formed Outcome (WFO) Survey The Self Review process and WFO survey is the Coaching pre-work completed by the Executive to help them identify their current personal, professional and organisational needs.

Lines of DevelopmentThe Lines of Development lens looks at the Executive’s current level of capacity and competency in each of the following Developmental Intelligence Lines, and aligns each with the Executive’s Coaching topic and outcomes – therefore identifying developmental blind spots.

Cognitive – The capacity to take multiple perspectives at once

Emotional – A deep understanding of cause and direction

Somatic – Connectedness with physiology

Interpersonal – Connectedness in relating with others

Intent/Purpose – Knowing what deeply matters – sense of

purpose in actions

Moral – How the Executive knows what to do/say, when with

whom?

Developmental Stages Assessment (Optional)The Developmental Stages Assessment is an assessment methodology for human development, developed by Terri O’Fallon, Ph.D. This stage assessment maps your meaning making by identifying your current worldview (stage of human development). Created from Developmental Psychology, this assessment is particularly useful for Leadership and Organisational Development.

Our Executive CoachesJay Hedley - Managing Partner at The Coaching RoomExecutives engage me to enable them to see with clarity, the truth of how they are showing up and the truth about what it is really on behalf of. They engage me for the ruthless care I bring into coaching – to give you what you need, not what you want.

The truth is that I don’t care what you think of me as a coach – yet paradoxically, I deeply care about what you say really matters to you – and I am about facilitating that with you until you get it. This enables us both to fully show up in service of your developmental potential.

Joseph Scott - Managing Partner at The Coaching RoomExecutives engage with me to realise their own and their companies next level of leadership and potential. Executives discover how out of relationship they can be with their selves, making it difficult for others to follow them and engage with their hearts and minds.

I mainly work with executives that are in transition from Senior management towards a C-Suite position or in service of C-Suite executives interacting more authentically with their Board and key stakeholders.

James Hayes - Partner at The Coaching RoomExecutives engage me to gain a depth of change in their lives; to get real clear on where and why they are reacting to the world, rather than responding from a place of choice. They engage me because they experience a softness of having nothing to prove with me, and yet paradoxically a fierce authenticity – of not being able to hide, make excuses, or get off the hook of what they know to be their truthful best.

I am not interested in your title, your backstory, who others take you to be, or any of the other pseudo-excuses that serve to hide the human being relating with me. I am interested in your potential; in what you deeply care about, and in facilitating your development toward it until it is yours.

Our Executive CoachesMax Young - Partner at The Coaching RoomEntrepreneurs who engage with me experience a depth of clarity and truthfulness to themselves about where they are now, what it is they really want, and what keeps getting in the way. They engage me for the expansive awareness I bring into coaching - to enable you to see yourself, your business, your struggles and your opportunities from an entirely different perspective, seeing aspects that you’ve never seen so clearly before.

The truth is that I will respond to you as a coach, to reveal to you the truth – yet paradoxically, I will not take responsibility for you. I am about facilitating your own responsibility, ownership and choices about what is truly important to you, back to you. This enables us both to let go and show up authentically in service of you stepping into possibility.

Our Executive CoachesJonothan Bliss - The Coaching RoomClients who enter a coaching relationship with me seek personal and professional evolution - finding, being and expressing more of who they are. Executive and Management coaching facilitates that intense process as a partner in exploration, inquiry and discovery - not as a teacher or mentor. In my view, your coach is a co-creator of your learning (and ‘unlearning’ process).

As an Executive and Management Coach, I specialise in leadership and Management development for groups & individuals; personal and professional development to evolve, grow and deepen understanding and ability to lead self as well as others.

After 14 years as an Executive Coach and Facilitator, my passion has consolidated to be ‘supporting leaders and organisations to evolve - as individuals, teams, organisations and community members’.

Ibby Ellissi - Partner at The Coaching RoomMy name is Ibby Ellissi and I have spent the past 15 years helping people transform their lives through my work in the health and fitness industry.

After realising that there was more then health and fitness when supporting people to their highest potential. I then discovered Coaching and begin my study of human behavior (NLP & Meta-Coaching) and how our thinking can shape our very lives.
