A board-certified internist with a subspecialty interestin preventive medicine and women’s health issues isresponsible for each patient’s care. This physician per-forms the physical examination, arranges tests andprocedures, interprets the results, and discusses find-ings and recommendations with the patient.

Convenience

The initial time commitment for the Women’sExecutive Health Evaluation is four to six hours. All services are usually scheduled on the same day.

W H A T T H E E V A L U A T I O N

I N C L U D E S :

The evaluation begins with a thorough history andphysical examination. A comprehensive panel ofblood and urine tests screens for the following condi-tions and evaluates internal organ function, bloodsugar and cardiovascular risk. Testing intervals arebased on individual history. Specialized tests and consultations include the following:

Screening tests for cancer:

✧ Colonoscopy ✧ Pap smear

✧ Chest x-ray ✧ Mammogram

Screening tests for heart and cardiovascular disease:

✧ EKG ✧ Cardiac stress test

Screening tests and consultations for general health:

✧ Vaccination update

✧ Vision test and glaucoma screening

✧ Audiogram

✧ Spirometry (for smokers and former smokers)

✧ Bone densitometry

✧ Menopause evaluation, if appropriate

✧ Body fat percentage

✧ Nutritional consultation

✧ Fitness evaluation and consultation

Optional tests and consultations (at your requestor your physician’s recommendation) include:

The Cleveland Clinic generally recommends an executive evaluation every three years for womenunder 40; every two years between the ages of 40and 50; and annually after age 50, or as determinedby test results. The tests given during these examswill vary, depending on age and risk factors.

After your tests are completed, your physician willsummarize the findings, make recommendations for any follow-up tests or visits that might be neces-sary and provide you with a comprehensive writtenreport. Should you require specialty care, you will be given priority access to more than 1,400Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists in 120 specialties and subspecialties.
