Ordered, That following disposition of H.R. 4378, the Senate proceed to executive session and resume
consideration of the nomination of Gen. John E. Hyten for appointment as Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff and appointment in the United States Air Force to the grade of general; with the time until 1:30 p.m.
equally divided between the Leaders or their designees.
Ordered further, That at 1:30 p.m., notwithstanding the provisions of Rule XXII, the post-cloture time
on the Hyten nomination and the nomination of Eugene Scalia, of Virginia, to be Secretary of Labor be
considered expired and that the Senate vote on the nominations in the order listed; and if confirmed the motions
to reconsider be considered made and laid on the table, and the President be immediately notified of the
Senate’s actions. (Sept. 25, 2019.)
