Double Degree Programs in Partner UniversitiesApplication Open for AY 2019 - 2020
• Can obtain degrees from both the UTokyo and partner university upon satisfying the graduation requirements of both degrees.
• A system where a student works for two different university degrees in parallel, completing them in less time (2 to 3 years) than it would take to earn them separately.

• Recommend to study at GraSPP at least 1 year before departure.
• Recommend to complete all core courses to meet your graduation requirements of GraSPP before your departure.
• Recommend to take as many courses taught in English as possible regardless of your current affiliated courses.

Preparation FOR HERTIE• About School
• Choose Your Concentration (Policy Analysis / Public Management) and Courses
• If you would like to choose ‘Policy Analysis’, you need to have a background knowledge of statistics before you come to Hertie.
• In case of Summer 2017, they have 36 courses and 24 thesis instructors. It is better to check their website and think of which courses/professor you want to choose in advance.
• Life in Berlin• Prepare Documents for Residence Application as Many as Possible (Especially when
you do not want to live in a shared house)
• Gehaltsnachweise (Income Certificate), Bank Balance Statement, Schufa-Ankunft, Mietschuldenfreiheitsbescheinigung, etc. All documents are preferably in German.
• Utilize Your Personal Connection
• Connection is really important in any aspects of Berlin life. For instance, joining in a Japanese community may help you search for a residence. Contact your acquaintances in Germany prior to leaving Japan.
LKYSSPLILIKO TANAKA (MPP-DDP)
Double Degree Programme Workload Requirements
・Incoming DDP students will be spending one year with the School
・DDP students are required to complete at least 44 MCs (one module is worth 4 MCs), including the ‘PolicyAnalysis Exercise (4 MCs)’ and ‘LKY School Course (0 MCs)’
・Upon successful completion of the Double Degree Programme (DDP), he/she will be awarded with twoMaster Degrees – one from LKYSPP and another from his/her home university
・A candidate must have obtained a minimum CAP of 3.00 (average of B-) at the end of the course of studybefore he/she can be considered for award of the degree of Master in Public Policy
