Positioning Operations are increasingly completed by Conveyor Belts

Conveyor belts are usually driven by three-phase motors paired with frequency inverters, or by BLDC motors with controllers. The belt can be stopped using an external sensor input if required.

Stop Position DeviationDepending on weight of the workpieces and the resulting friction that occurs, the belt can overtravel, causing the stop position to vary.

Improved Stopping Accuracy with Straightforward Controls

Stepper motors with SC type CVD Series drivers offer an interesting solution for more precise positioning.

When the motor is at a standstill, a holding torque of 50 % of the rated torque of the motor will be applied, maintaining the position of the load.

Setting up two Operating SpeedsForward/Reverse movement is triggered using the FWD/RVS digital inputs.

Speed, acceleration time, and operating current can be set with switches.

Bene�t from the precision and speed stability of an extremely smooth-running stepper motor without the use of an external pulse generator.

Two speeds can be set directly on driver board. These can be selected via the M0 digital input.

When the motor receives a stop signal, the deceleration rate will not be affected by varying friction or inertia loads.

The deceleration time can be set together with the acceleration time in increments of; 0.00s, 0.05s, 0.10s, 0.20s, 0.50s, 1.00s, 2.00s, and 3.00s, for speeds of up to 600 rpm.

When the motor is at a standstill, a holding torque of 50% of the rated torque of the motor will be applied, maintaining the position of the load.

● Operation data can be set and controlled for positioning operation (max. number of operation data sets: 256)● Speed, target position and motor current (torque) can be changed immediately via communication while the operation data a motion block is running.

● A maximum of 31 axes can be connected to a host controller. (Total length of all communication cables: up to 10 m)

In addition to controlling the motion profiles, the status (speed, alarm, temperature, etc.) can also be monitored via the RS-485 interface.
