Regional Swimming Carnival Congratulations and best wishes to the students who will be representing the school at Regionals next Tuesday.

Prioritising attendance In 2020 our students did very well to continue their learning, however due to the disruptions of Covid some learning time was lost therefore we are asking parents to prioritise their child’s attendance. The Department of Education has provided the school with additional funds to employ extra teachers to make up for lost learning. This support is only for 2021. So in order for you to support your child we encourage you to not allow your children days off for birthdays, to look after younger children, to go shopping, to keep you company or because they were tired from a late night. Children who are used to having days off school for these kinds of reasons develop an attitude that their attendance at school is not very important to you. Teach your children that being on time is an important habit to develop. Children that are constantly late to school miss a very important part of the school day when the teacher outlines what is happening during the day. It is also an important part of the day for new skills and concepts to be presented to students, as this is the part of the day when they are freshest and can concentrate better. Students that are late to school miss these messages and then find that they do not know what is going on and feel like they do not belong.

Transition to school program – Buzzy Bees At this stage we are planning to begin Term 2 week 2. This is designed for students intending to enrol into Bradbury PS Kindergarten for 2022. Enrolment packages and additional information will be advertised and available Monday 8 March 2021. Harmony Day Bradbury PS will be celebrating Harmony Week on Tuesday 16 March. Students will be involved in classroom activities. What is Harmony Week? It is a time to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and the successful integration of migrants into our community.

Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and we should celebrate this and work to

maintain it.

Harmony Week is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic

background, united by a set of core Australian values. Why orange? Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect. Students can choose to wear cultural dress or something orange on Harmony Day Tuesday 16 March to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
