GCSE Art

Strategy Description

Frequency (max

number of

sessions)

What will this strategy look like if it is

run correctly?

1

After School Tuesday

and Thursday 3:30-

4:30pm

One weekly There are two strategies in place: One: Drop in session for help with

refining skills and working more

effciently on processes.

Two: Targeted interventions for students

who are behind in their coursework and

need extra guidance this is arranged by

an individual tutorial and parental

discussion. The room

will be a creative busy environment that

allows the teacher to work one to one

giving guidance on material use.

2

After School

Thursday and

Thursday 3:30-

4:30pm

One weekly After Feb Half term I set up targeted

interventions looking at students weak

areas this also connects to the mentoring

programme where: A* mentor A students

A-B, B-C and C-D. Students are giving

extra resources, examples as well as

expertise advice to secure and heighten

their grades.

3

Autumn Half term

year 11 60%

2 Days This is a catchup and refinement session

to secure and heighten grades. Students

are invited my letter and will work

combining and sorting their 60%

portfolio. This will be a targeted

intervention and one to one monitoring.

4

Easter Holidays year

11 40%

2 Days This is sedculed to guide students on

their 40% examination work and set

interventons for those who need to

secure or heighten their current grade.

5

One to one feedback

and tutorials

One per sketchbook One to one session: Monitoring happens

throughout their sketchbooks. This

session takes place once the students

have completed AO1, AO2 and AO3

starting AO4. They are marked against

the Assessment Objective criteria and

given specific instructions on each page

created to guide them on improvements

and refinements.

6

Individualised plans Case by case basis Contact with parents dividual plans are

created to help and guide students
