Ludmila KiosovaSchool: SOU “Vasil Levski”BulgariaMs. Ludmila Kiosova has been involved in the EwB Programme for 4 years. She was amongst the first pilot teachers who implemented the programme in her school. Since the very beginning she involved all the student companies she was leading, so that they could contribute to the development of EWB in Bulgaria. Ms. Kiosova and her students were the first from Bulgaria who actually conducted a real partnership with a foreign company, in the first year of its implementation in the school curricula, the mini companies of Ms Kiosova had conducted 8 foreign business relations. What is more, Ludmila’s responsibility and will to expand her knowledge to her colleagues drove her efforts to expand and broaden her EWB horizons. In one academic year she conducted teacher trainings along with the national coordinator, advising colleagues on the pros and cons of the website’s platform and has participated with her young entrepreneurs in all European trade fairs since the very beginning. On a European level, Ludmila Kiosova connected with other highly motivated teachers and along with their students they formed a winning European joint venture for the academic school year 2010 – 2011. Also, she was the fire, who started the idea for international Eco Camp in Velingrad which targets all EWB and Company programme students. Today, Eco Camp has come into existence will be held on October 20 – 26 in Velingrad.

Antti-Pekka NikulaSchool: Jyvaskyla Vocational CollegeFinlandAntti-Pekka has been a driving force behind the EwB programme in Finland. He has demonstrated activity and dedication both at work as well as in his spare time.He has been involved in the programme from the very beginning. He was the teacher of EwB Award winning company Afreetrade in the year 2009-2010 and has continued the multinational co-operation through the last academic year as his companies were involved in joint-ventures created between Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Italy.Antti-Pekka organised by himself a one-week international conference in Jyvaskyla for Finnish, Swedish, Danish and Italian students last fall.During the Ewb programme he has taken part in various international activities, e.g. in Brussels and Oslo. His passion for entrepreneurship is unique and worth acknowledging.

Mr. Stig Hultén has been dedicated to the EwB programme from the very beginning. Especially in the past two years he has in an exceptional way managed to prepare his students for the international aspects of running a company and the results speak for themselves: The student companies Afreetrade (2010) and In Tour Europe (2011) have both won the High Potential Award.Mr. Stig Hultén is very inspiring in his way of using EwB and has done a great job promoting EwB both nationally and internationally since he has always willingly shared experiences and answered questions about EwB-related topics. Mr. Stig Hultén has been able to incorporate several subjects in the EwB Programme which have given his students the necessary knowledge to succeed with their companies. He has dedicated a lot of time and effort into EwB-study trips, both with and without students and has been at the students’ disposal whenever needed. Through the EwB Programme he has built a priceless network of teachers that we are certain will create more EwB-results in the future.

They joined the EwB-programme in 2009 with student company „Snojac“. In 2010-2011 they mentored two student companies: “Pinata Events” and “Chantico”, both involved in EwB-programme with lots of partnerships and contacts. Their student company “Snojac” attended the JA-YE Trade Fair 2010 in Lisbon and with “Pinata Events” took part in the JA-YE Trade Fair 2011 in Bratislava. Sina and Melitta made the most of their attendance at the EwB-Teachers-Conference in Oslo 2010, initiating lots of contacts, especially with Scandinavian teachers (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden) and after the end of the conference took the opportunity to meet with teachers in Oslo and visited their schools.A few weeks ago they applied successfully for the Comenius Programme and are going to install student exchanges with Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden. They are currently

working towards their start-up-meeting for this cooperation in Karlsbad/ Germany in October 2011 including a small trade fair for all attending student companies. The teachers feel that their strength comes from cooperating closely and are accustomed to working as a team, they regularly attend with their student companies’ national/regional trade fairs. They are very open-minded for all new programmes and are excellent net-workers/ multipliers for our programmes.

Ornella PiliSchool: IIS Facchinetti, CastellanzaItalyOrnella has been an EwB and Company Programme link teacher in Italy since 2008. She has a degree in Nuclear Engineering and is dedicated to teaching Electronics in VET schools. Thinking it would be a good idea to permanently add Entrepreneurship as a subject in a VET school - she enthusiastically registered in the Company Programme/EwB. Very luckily, we matched her with a premium business volunteer from Nokia. Thanks to their empathy, responsibility and sense of cooperation they are still getting great learning results and appreciation from their students.Ornella finds in JA programmes a good way to motivate students, create a sense of responsibility and strengthen teamwork. She has participated in both the Company Programme and EwB as well as in the Innovation Camps and Banks in Action. Working in a very difficult environment where drop-out rates are high and a great number of students have social problems - she has succeeded in some ways to make students happier about being at school and created a link with study and future professional careers. She also has found a way of encouraging students to learn English and to create cross-borders businesses. Her 2 EwB companies “S4L” and “eleQtronic solutions” set up some winning joint-ventures with students in Portugal, Romania, Germany, Spain, and, mainly, in Kenya. The JV “S4L Africa” (made with the EwB company “Infinite” located in Nairobi, Kenya) run an import/export business together.Ornella organised virtual meetings in Nokia offices in Milan and coordinated the participation of several Nokia managers who enriched those days with Marketing or Technological lessons enabling the students to participate in an international exchange without having to travel.Ornella is one of our best teachers. She collaborates with us to improve our programmes and widen our reach and needs no convincing about what EwB means for students’ achievements.

Having many registered partnerships not only depends on the team/students but the teacher who coordinates the company. This teacher has managed a large number of teams (“Inbox”, “Lusocortiça” and “Novo Mundo”), 2 of them engaged in the largest number of partnerships (national and international) in EWB. In addition, all partnerships were always being accepted and validated on time by the teacher. And also the products of “Inbox” and “Lusocortiça” were exported out of the country to be sold by the partnerships. In March, Sónia and her students saw their dedication and effort pay off winning the award of “Best Sales Technique” in the National Trade Fair, assigned to the Inbox team. Following on from that recognition, at the end of the year, the company Lusocortiça was one of 22 companies selected for the National Competition of the Company Programme.

Sónia SousaSchool: Escola Secundária Castêlo MaiaPortugal

She is a young and dynamic teacher, who has a nice and very close relationship with her students. Although none of the teams had performed an international exchange, at the end of the year she organized a School Fair which counted amongst its participants a team from Lisbon, “Green Thinking”. Although it was the first year of participation in EWB, Sónia Sousa did an excellent job with the students, not forgetting the good team work established with the volunteer. She believes that the Company Programme transforms, in a very good way, the students and that the volunteer support has made a difference.

Mormocea DorinaSchool: Colegiul National de InformaticaRomaniaDorina Mormocea is a Maths teacher from a rural area who has a passion for doing “the right thing” so that his students get the chance to succeed in their life path. Not being an economic or entrepreneurship teacher, her involvement in EWB programme seemed not such a great idea at first. But her passion and determination in working with students made all the difference in overcoming obstacles. From the English barrier (she used the students more in order for her to learn), entrepreneurship knowledge (involving local community as examples), collaboration with other students teams, and expanding students’ horizons (the students formed their own association) she got it all right. She is one of the Company of the Year national finalists’ coordinators (having two teams in the final, one of them wining the Social Enterprise Award - Descopera Neamtul prin Tineri).
