NATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY LABORATORY
Clean Cities Mission
Sponsored by the DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and
Renewable Energy's Vehicle Technologies program
Provides a framework for businesses and governments to
work together as a coalition to enhance markets
Coordinate activities, identify mutual interests, develop
regional economic opportunities, and improve air quality
To advance the energy, economic, and environmental
security of the U.S. by supporting local decisions to adopt
practices that contribute to the reduction of petroleum
consumption in the transportation sector.

EVSE Reporting Requirements
• Charger must exist for the sole purpose of charging an EV.
• Equipment must include a residual current device such as a
ground fault interrupter.
• Equipment must meet National Electrical Code standards.
• Equipment must be in close proximity to a parking space.
• Proper signage must be present that indicates the equipment is
for EV charging.
NATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY LABORATORY
Future Work
Database integration to remain hub for consumers
• Single gateway for electric vehicle users to search and locate
stations from major providers
• Provide un-biased access for all users
• Raise comfort level and ease of use
Increase familiarity and utilization of all stations
