As the flagship European Funding programme in the field of education and training, the
Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) enables individuals at all stages of their lives to
pursue stimulating learning opportunities across Europe.
Four Sectorial Elements
1. Comenius - first phase of education, from pre-school and primary to secondary schools
2. Erasmus - formal higher education
3. Leonardo da Vinci - vocational education and training
4. Grundtvig – non-vocational adult educationhttp://eacea.ec.europa.eu/llp/about_llp/about_llp_en.php
Additional - Transversal elements of Languages and ICT
- Jean Monet – higher educational institutions
What is Leonardo?
The Leonardo da Vinci programme links policy to practice in the field of vocational education and training (VET). Projects range from those
giving individuals the chance to improve their competences, knowledge and skills through a
period abroad, to Europe-wide co-operation between training organisations.
How does Leonardo mobility work?
Leonardo da Vinci focuses on vocational education and training, other than at tertiary level. It addresses both the learning and teaching needs in the sector, and is
therefore aimed at all parties involved, namely trainees in vocational education, teachers and trainers,
institutions and educational bodies, enterprises, associations, social partners and bodies relating to
either lifelong learning or the labour market.

Mobility Projects
Mobility Projects allow you to provide staff, students, job seekers and apprentices with a unique opportunity to enhance their skills on
a work placement in another European country.
Partnerships
Partnerships allow you to work with your European counterparts on issues of mutual interest, to share ideas and
discuss common problems.
Transfer of Innovation
Transfer of Innovation allows you to work with European partners to transfer and adapt
innovative vocational education and training materials and methods.
Mobility – What can you do?
Mobility for trainees, employees and anyone looking for work
You can send trainees and people in the labour market to another European
country for a work placement to enable them to gain real experience and skills in
employment.
Mobility – What can you do?
Placements for VET professionals

will contribute to their personal development, and they will be able to
learn new skills and ways of working to bring back to their job in the UK.
