E EE EEVERON VANE MIST ELIMINATORThe EVERON range of mist eliminators are the Chevron type of mist eliminators which consist of a set ofspecially designed vanes with a well defined geometry. Gas with entrained liquid droplets flows between the vanes of the EVERON Separator. The gas can easilytake the turns while the liquid dropletscannot follow the gas streamlines and impinge upon the walls of the vanes and coalesce to a sizewhere they drop down and are collected and removed.TheEVERONVFH(Vertical Flow - Horizontally Placed)TheEVERONHFV(Horizontal Flow - Vertically Placed)C CC CCAPACITYThe EVERON separators working on the inertialseparation mechanism can be used efficiently overa wide gas velocity range without a significant lossof droplet removal efficiency. Thus, for situationswhere wide flow rate ranges are possible, theEVERON is a preferred choice compared tocyclonic type mist eliminators. The operating velocity is obtained by a forcebalance between the gravitational, drag and surfacetension forces acting on the entrained droplets.Awide operating velocity range is possible & thecapacity of the EVERON is only limited by thephenomenon of reentrainment of the coalesceddroplets and hence the design velocity has to bekept well below this critical velocity which leads toreentrainment.E EE EEFFICIENCYEVERONS are largely used for the separation ofcoarse mist (or spray) from gases and vapours.Alimit drop size (Dp) is used to characterize themand it is defined as the smallest particle which canbe removed to an extent of 99%.P PP PPRESSUREDROPDue to the large percentage of the cross sectionavailable for gas flow, the pressure drop in a vastmajority of applications is less than 25-50 mm WG.As mentioned above, for high efficiencyapplications, a larger pressure drop is to beexpected.A AA AAPPLICATIONSDue to its constructional features, the EVERON hasa lowertendencyto fouling.Recommended areasof operation would therefore include:Applications where droplets will be sticky orviscous and will plug conventional Knitted/FibreBed Mist Eliminators. For systems containing certain solids it wouldbe possible to carry out intermittent cleaningwith spray nozzles.Situations where wide flow rate ranges arepossible which renders the cyclonic typesystems unsuitable.Thismisteliminatorisdesigned for vertical gasflow.Inthisconfigurationthe vanes are designed toprovide optimum deflectiontothegascontainingentrainedliquidparticles.Theentrainedparticlescannotfollowthedeflectedgaspathandarecollectedastheyaccumulatealongthewallofthemisteliminator.Collectedliquidrunsdowncountercurrenttothe direction of gas flow.Thismisteliminatorisdesigned for horizontal gasflow. In this configuration, speciallydesignedsinusoidal vanes having aprovision for a phaseseparationchamberareemployed. The gas flow is split bythese vanes and theentrainedliquidparticlesaredriven by inertial forces tothewallsinthephaseseparationchambers.Reentrainment is avoidedas a separate liquiddrainage path is provided inthephaseseparationchamber. The normal (Dp)are in the region of 25microns and higher. However, special designsare available for applications requiringremoval of particles smaller than this size.S SS SSPECIAL DESIGN FOR HIGHPRESSURE/HIGHEFFICIENCYAPPLICATIONS.EVERGREEN has designed a range ofEVERON mist eliminators for criticalapplications in the oil and gas sector, for high-pressure boiler applications. These areprimarily of the EVERON HFV configurationwith collection efficiency of essentially 100%for particles 8 microns and larger and pressuredrops below 0.1 kg/cm2.These are compactdesigns which are useful in high-pressureinstallations and offshore platform due to theirreduced size. EVERON mist eliminators havenow been operating for such critical duties atoperating pressures as high as 100 bar.In addition, EVERGREEN also offers designsfor horizontal gas flow wherein theEVERMESH media is used as anagglomerator/coalescer for fine aerosols whichVarious mist eliminator configurations are available and typical performance curves are shown below.are subsequently fed into a vane (typicallyEVERON HFV configuration) for removal as alarger drop. Alternatively, for vertical gas flows an EVERONVFHmist eliminator is placed as the first stagecoarse separator for situations where a high inletliquid load or a fouling situation is envisaged.AnEVERMESH unit is then used to effectively clean/polish these gases downstream of the vane misteliminator.M MM MMATERIALOFCONSTRUCTIONStandard Material of construction for the EVERONVFH series are polypropylene & stainless steelwhile for EVERON HFV series it is PVC &stainless steel.Other materials can bemanufactured upon request.EVERONHFV - I3-D, MAKER BHAVAN-2, 18 NEW MARINE LINES, MUMBAI - 400 020.TEl: 22012461 / 2201 2706 .
