A UNIQUE VENUE IN THE CITY OF LONDON
WELCOME TO ROYAL EXCHANGE
The Royal Exchange was founded as a ‘comely
bourse for merchants to assemble upon,’ by
wealthy land mercer, Sir Thomas Gresham.
It was opened by Queen Elizabeth I in 1571,
but the original building was destroyed by the
Fire of London in 1666.
A second building, opened in 1669, was
again destroyed by fire, this time in 1838. The
Royal Exchange building you see today was
designed by William Tite and opened by Queen
Victoria in 1844.
In 2001, this Grade I listed building was
extensively remodelled to accommodate a
collection of the world’s finest luxury brands,
shops and restaurants.

The Private Rooms are in the perfect central
location to host a corporate meeting or event.
You can either hire out the Threadneedle
Room, ideal for quieter intimate groups of up
to 18 guests, or the Cornhill room, which can
fit 26 guests and offers fantastic views of the
Grade I-listed building and natural daylight
filters through from the unique roof covering
the courtyard.
Fully air-conditioned, this elegant private
dining room is available for breakfast, lunch,
dinner and all-day meetings. We have various
day delegate packages available and are
happy to create a bespoke package tailored to
your specific requirements.
We will be happy to organise and manage all
of your AV requirements in conjunction with
our preferred production suppliers.

The Threadneedle Bar is a warm and intimate
space located on the north-facing mezzanine
of The Royal Exchange. Rich shades of blue,
cognac and other dark hues provide a relaxed
ambience in this decadent drinking den.

inspired by the Grand Cafés of 19th-century

level of the Royal Exchange specialising in
