Photoshop

• Throughout this project I have learnt many skills on Photoshop. I had used Photoshop before but not as thorough as I used it to create my media products. I have learnt how to make the spaces between text larger and used this technique for my slogan underneath the mast head on the front cover. With Photoshop I have managed to organise my pages to look professional while learning skills on the way.

Internet Explorer

• Without Internet explorer I wouldn’t have been able to get my research about music magazines as quickly as I have. I searched in the search bar using Google the names of music magazines to bring up their website pages and search more information about their audiences and style of magazine.

• Internet explorer has helped me a lot with my research and I could collect more information than I could if I had researched through books. It has collected stats about the audience figures and ratings. It can easily compare different music magazines and leads you to find different genres of music magazines dispatched in the UK.

• Using internet explorer I found websites such as DaFont.com.

Da Font• http://www.dafont.com/

• DaFont.com is a website where you can download different fonts from girly flicking fonts to big, bold, sharp fonts. I found Da Font extremely useful, especially for my masthead. It gave me more options to create a masthead which applies to my audience and to help it stand out more on my front cover. This font also became the logo of my magazine and is used on each page in the left hand top corner.

• I learnt about Da Font from my peers and it has become a useful site in my magazine to create my masthead and other fonts throughout my magazine.

Studios• To take my images I used a photography studio, I set the lights up so I got

the lighting I needed and preferred and so it was easy for me to use Photoshop and produce high quality images for my magazine which is a main convention in a music magazine.

Transferring • To transferre images from the camera to my computer to work on them in

Photoshop and add them into my magazine I used a memory stick so I could import them into any computer I was working on. To get the images from the SLR camera I used I had to use a 1GB memory card which fitted into the camera. Then I dragged the images into my folder on the computer and onto my memory stick. By saving everything into two files in separate places I could trust that if one wasn’t working I had a backup file so I hadn’t lost all of my work during the process.

Blogger• Blogger was an easy way to present all of my work

in as I could fit labels to each blog to show what section of the research or producing I was on. I had never used blogger before but found it easy to use and it is a well presentable. It is easy to upload photos and Slideshare makes it easy to upload PowerPoint documents.

• I think Blogger is a great website to present your work on as you can see the stages you’ve gone through to get to the end product.

Slideshare

• Slideshare is a great and easy way to upload your PowerPoint's to Blogger. I had never used Slideshare before, but its quick sign up and upload service was easy and straight forward to use which made me use it each time I needed to upload a PowerPoint to my blog.
