    Evaluation of Samantha Santiaguel’s Senior Project by Rachel Lizan – Inside Advisor 

    Samantha’s action as! tofold! including an internshi" and culture classes modeled after 

    that internshi"# I set her u" ith her internshi" at the Phili""ine $ultural $enter’s School of

    $reative and Performing Arts# I met her there on several of their classes# She as "rom"t and "leasant to their students and faculty# She s"ent several ee%s both observing the classes and

    then "artici"ating as a volunteer instructor#

    She conducted a four ee% module of &ili"ino culture classes at the "ublic library# I as

    in attendance for one of her sessions# 'here ere about () students ho ere actively engaged

    in a language lesson# 'hey sang songs and also too% "art of engaging educational games on the

     board# Each lesson also included a cultural com"onent# In the lesson I vieed! Samantha

    organized and arranged a visit by a local martial arts studio that gave a demonstration on

    Es%rima! one of the fighting arts of the Phili""ines# 'hey gave the historical conte*t and shoed

    off their s%ills# 'he students ere delighted by the demo#

    'hroughout the entire "rocess! Samantha has been self+motivated and able to "lan and

    or% efficiently to create a ,uality "roduct# She as "rofessional at her internshi" and also

    or%ed to design a""ealing lessons that met her goals of educating young &ili"inos on their

    culture#
