  Evaluation

Our assignment was to recreate our own version of la jetee an original apocalyptic

film. As a group we decided it would be appropriate to use narration to tell a story. ABrand new social networking site has begun brain washing the worlds population

into staring at computer screens they’ve become addicted & drained. The more they

stay on the site, the more it kills the brain because bigger frequencies are sent out

the brain.

In this essay I’m going to look out audio + visual aspects of ‘Hackers Frequency’  my

groups ‘La Jetee’. First thing you hear is piano this sets the tone of our story. Once

the tone has been set the narrator’s voice beings telling the story. Combining voice

over pictures and music brings sadness to the scenario.

Audio and visual: As a group decision planned sequencing dialogue, making things

specific and distinctive. Including having problems with echo, doors shutting, air

conditioning. Had to record in a quiet beneficial environmental room. For our first

practice ‘La Jetee’ had less sound effects ‘wind’, ‘evil laugh’ ‘screams’. Editing 3D

photographs in Adobe After Effects post production. I decided my voice should be

talking in a sad tone, the dialogue in the script controlling the rhythm flowing with the

music. An artistic imagination laid out through expression. We Spent 6 weeks doing

paperwork, proposals, risk assessment beginning pre production using ‘Final Cut

Pro’, ‘Adobe After Effects’. Editing went splendidly, changing frame rates to

Highlight each stage of progress.

Four main elements

Close up of my eyeball (moves into) adobe after

effects transition. Scaled and position moving

towards

Psychological effect duplicating a person’s

perception throughout the film.

Authoritarian: makes the voice more demanding

Luke’s narration voice-over was eloquent, quiet news reporting.

Visual transitions – moving the camera marks serious actions. Cover shots of

characters and locations.

Music starts off with a triumphful pace of the violin

strings, continuing piano rhythm section of the cutting

violin, so beautiful I could almost shed a tear.

Including giving a spectacular force of empathy, loneliness, and isolation.

In this scene individuals are dead. Piano & violin increases tension simultaneously

showing mid range shot of students suddenly dead and their electric brain waveshave demolished.

Ageing makeup (Emma) wanted her to look old and wrinkling. Precise in the rule of

thirds Mid close up. This Effective makeup makes her look like an old lady zombie

influenced in our La Jette assignment project. Emma has red bags under her eyes

and is possessed by a non-revertible condition

Has ‘La Jette’ influenced my film making learning experience? From watching the

original film filled with uncertainty loved the black and white photographs. Narration

was majestic fantastic voice over artist absolutely enlightens me. As a group we

individually wanted to have an input on ideas. I collected sound effects from garage

band. Near to the ending screens go fuzzy.

Question is the villains are never revealed. Music and this website hides thereidentity. Relationship between movement, timing. All in all this was my first

experience working still imagery and sound effects most enjoyable time by all those

involved in the film.

Right side picture: Mid range shot of me presenting. We wanted to capture my

reaction reporting broadcasting the news about this social media making sure

medium shot? mid range possibly.

Student logging (Aaron) onto Hackers

Frequency website cut to facial

expression reaction medium shot?

close up maybe. Thought this shot was

matched well in the rule of thirds. Shotstaken by Anthony.

I’ve had an enjoyable time learning brand new terminology about film, still images

and much more. I’d like to make something like this in my own spare time. Thank

you once again having beneficial helpful teachers around in the college.

Charlie.
