My product challenges other already existing magazines as it follows the conventions that magazines have. This keeps it traditional which allows it to challenge real school magazines. The conventions my magazine has are a large masthead, and a large main image, which takes up most of the cover. My magazine shows development from the initial mock up to the =inal piece, by being more structured and ful=illing the audiences’ needs more. My magazine cover represents a particular social group as it is aimed at the students. However it has information that would be bene=icial for the parents of students as well. Also the magazine is aimed at people who go to the school and are interested in it so they are the social group it represents. The magazine would be distributed and published by the school as it is for the students who attend that school. The target audience for my magazine are the students and the parents, as they would show an interest in the school. As the magazine would be released termly, it would have constant up to date information for the students to read. Also the parents would be able to read the magazine to update themselves with the school their child is attending. I attracted my target audience by using pupils in my main image. By doing this it means the audience would recognise them and would want to read inside to see why they are in it. I also used informal language, as the audience are teenagers they wouldn't want to read a magazine, which is formal and wordy. During the process of making my magazine I have learned how to use the Apple Macs more and the apps that are on them. For example on my main image I used Photoshop to adjust any imperfections the main image had.
