How did you attract/address your audience?

In my survey 80% said that they are female. I responded to this by including mostly

female artists in my magazine. This way the artists in my magazine will represent and

reflect my audience. The readers will be able to relate to the artists and the artists can

become a person they can look up to and aspire to be more like them.

Gender

Age

My target audience are mostly in the age between 16-24, but there are also a few under

the age of 15. Because of this I wanted to create a fun and colourful layout which could

respond to this. This layout will attract a audience in this age group.

In my survey most people said that they like to read exclusive interviews and therefore my

main focus on the front cover is my exclusive interview. This will hen attract my audience

to buy the magazine. As you can see on my contents page I have also included the other

types of articles that my audience said they like to read.

Articles

Social Media

Since the people that answered my survey said they liked different social medias I

wanted to include links to the social media pages of my magazine. I tried two different

ways of doing this on my contents page, but I did not think any of them looked

successful. They looked out of place and did not fit with the rest of the contents page.

Therefore I decided not to include them. I imagine they are included on the page with the

editors note instead.

Colour Scheme

Since the people answering my survey said that they prefer pastel and light colours in the

colour scheme I made my layout mostly using these types of colours. My front cover uses

blue and white as the main colours, while my contents page has a simple black and white

layout the only colours being in the pictures.

My target audience said they prefer photos taken on location on the front cover.

Therefore I took my front cover photo on location and out in the nature. This will then

attract my audience to buy my magazine.

Prize

People answering my survey mostly said that they would pay £3-4 for a magazine.

Therefor I sat my prize to £3.5.
