NANN is thrilled to announce our

2019 keynote speakers!

TERRY S. JOHNSON, APN, NNP-BC, APPS, CLEC, MN

Director of Education and Professional Development, Prolacta Bioscience

OPENING GENERAL SESSION

Evaluating Evidence and Inspiring Change: It’s More Than Just a Phase….

Every day we are confronted by the changes in knowledge, practice, delivery, products, and devices in our clinical settings. The models of ‘change theory’ or ‘how we change’ are also evolving. Terry Johnson’s opening address will invite you to look at the concept of “phase change” as a means to fuse emerging practice evidence with nursing’s inherent obligation to always be pivoting toward optimal clinical outcomes.

HEATHER MONK BODENSTAB, PHARM.D.

Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Newborn/Infant Intensive Care Unit and Vaccine Education Center

at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia

GENERAL SESSION II

Addressing Vaccine Hesitancy in the Age of Dr. Google

With expertise in vaccine-related controversies and more than a decade of speaking with vaccine-hesitant NICU families, Dr. Monk Bodenstab knows how damaging it can be when the internet and social media are considered more reliable resources than health care professionals. By discussing the evidence behind neonatal vaccine controversies and demonstrating real-life strategies and resources for speaking with hesitant families, she will provide the tools necessary to empower neonatal nurses when dispelling vaccine-related myths on the front lines.

REBECCA LOVE RN, BS, MSN, FIEL

Managing Director, US Markets, Ryalto

2019 PRECONFERENCE

NANNP APRN SUMMIT

MADGE E. BUUS-FRANK DNP, APRN-BC, FAAN

NIKIA GRAYSON, DNP, MSN, MPH, CNM, FNP-C

Join your colleagues to solve a series of real-world clinical cases with one unifying theme - they were initially labeled as “normal” newborns. This engaging session will challenge both your clinical and diagnostic skills and infuse a healthy dose of evidence aimed at helping you and your team improve the quality and safety of care for every newborn and prevent potentially preventable NICU admissions and hospital readmissions of newborns.

Employing Cultural Humility as a Standard of Care: Addressing the Needs of LGBTQ Families in the NICU

Dr. Grayson is a public health advocate, anthropologist, and family nurse-midwife who has devoted her life to serving underserved and marginalized communities. She has more than 10 years of experience working in public health and nursing, and her work has focused on LGBTQ health, reproductive justice, birth justice, and midwifery. Using a reproductive justice framework to guide her work, Dr. Grayson shares the voices and perspectives of LGBTQ families and helps identify challenges and solutions to improve patient experiences in the NICU.

The National Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners’ APRN Summit offers educational content on advanced neonatal care, specifically tailored to neonatal nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists.
