Aims to foster solidarity in the European society by engaging young people and organisations in accessible and high-quality solidarity activities.
Offers young people opportunities to:
• make a meaningful contribution to society and help resolve challenging situations across Europe.
• develop their skills and get some valuable experience in the process.
The European Solidarity Corps
More concretely…
Sport organisations may apply for funding for projects that provide young people with opportunities to tackle various societal challenges.
Examples:
• Promote sport benefits to disadvantaged groups
• Tackle physical inactivity in Europe
• Overcome barriers to participation in sports
• Develop young people’s skills through sports (leadership, teamwork, self-confidence etc)
• Use sport activities and events to support social inclusion of persons with fewer opportunities
• Raise awareness of healthy lifestyle
WHAT ACTIONS ARE SUPPORTED?
Volunteering
Traineeships and Jobs
Solidarity Projects
Individual volunteering allows young people to participate in the daily work of organisations for 2-12 months (or as of 2 weeks for people with fewer opportunities) abroad or in their country of residence.
Volunteering teams are groups of 10-40 young people from at least two countries volunteering for a shorter period of 2 weeks to 2 months.
Accommodation, food, pocket money and travel costs for participants to and from the venue are covered.

Volunteering teams in high priority areas – specific focus on thematic priorities:
• European cultural heritage
• Social inclusion of people with fewer opportunities
• Response to environmental and climate challenges

Traineeships and Jobs
Traineeships - full-time work practice
that lasts between 2-6 months
(renewable once) abroad or in the
participant's country of residence.
Jobs - full-time activities that last
between 3-12 months abroad or in
the participant's country of residence.
Paid for by the organisation
employing/training the participant.
Participants' travel costs to and from
the venue are covered. If travelling
abroad, participants receive a small
allowance to help them relocate and
settle in.
Solidarity Projects
Solidarity projects are initiated,
developed and implemented by at
least five young people who
want to make a positive change in
their local community having a
clear European added value in
mind for a period of 2-12 months.

GEOGRAPHICAL SCOPE
Participating countries - EU Member States and non-EU Participating countries (Turkey)
Partner countries - Neighbouring Partner Countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestine, Syria, Tunisia, Russian Federation)
Volunteering is open to young people coming from participating and partner countries.
Jobs and traineeships are open to young people from EU MS
Solidarity projects are open to young people from EU MS + Turkey

To sum up
HOW TO APPLY
Any public or private organisation holding a Quality Label and legally established in an EU Member State or Turkey can participate and submit applications for volunteering activities. Traineeships and jobs are only open to organisations established in Member States. General Rule: minimum two organisations participating and covering 2 roles :
a Host role and a Supporting role

2. Apply for the Quality Label
Prerequisite for participation - to ensure organisations' ability to comply with quality standards and objectives of the Corps
3. Submit the Application Form
Online application forms can be submitted to the National Agency in the participating country where the applicant organisation is established.

2019 - over 96 million euro
Call deadlines:
• 7 February for projects starting between 1 May and 30 September the same year
• 30 April for projects starting between 1 August and 31 December of the same year
• 1 October for projects starting between 1 January and 31 May of the following year
• 28 September – only for volunteering teams in high priority areas. Projects should start 1 July following year.
