in preschool education the most skills (cognitive, affective, social, civic, etc.) develop through the study of Art and Music

in primary education – 1h/week for Art and 1h/week for Music

Secondary school: 5th grade to 7th grade : 1h-week for Art and

1h/week for Music. 8th grade : 1/2h-week for Art and 1/2h-week for

Music (one class at 2 weeks for each subject)

High school: Only the classes from the humanist profile study

Art and Music , 1/2 h-week.(one class at 2 weeks for each subject)

only the classes from the vocational profile study Art or Music intensively

Art education Art Curriculum – creative experience and artistic

communication in fine arts; An efficient implementation of the Art Curriculum

implies:• The use of interactive teaching methods; • The use of students’ and teachers’ creativity;• The integration of the act of creation in the teaching

process;• The development of children’s positive attitude

towards people around and surrounding world;• The cultivation of students’ own artistic view.

achievement of skills and abilities of music interpretation and reception;

Reasons for the lack of efficiency of the music education in secondary school:

up to the 5th grade Music classes are taught by educators and form teachers, not by specialized Music teachers;

reduced number of classes: 1h - every two weeks for the 8th grade.

Music education in Romanian school focuses on: singing and music theory !!!musical instruments are studied only at vocational high schools, or as part of extracurricular activities; (for example at “Petru Poni” School- a Guitar Club)
