MENSÁJE DE PADRE JULIO

MUCHO CUIDADO CON CRITICAR

El papa Francisco en especial ha sido muy enfático en este aspecto de evitar críticas. Considero que vale la pena meditar sobre este aspecto de la moralidad cristiana. Veamos las diversas aristas o facetas de esto:

Hemos de partir de la conciencia de que no somos Dios, solo somos creaturas recién nacidas y nuestro conocimiento es parcial, y con frecuencia distorsionado.

Lo que conocemos llega a nosotros por mu-chos filtros que hace que no veamos las cosas como son, sino según nosotros. Todo pasa por los filtros de la parte que nos dije-ron, de la interpretación que nos dio el que nos lo dijo, de la que hacemos noso-tros, según nuestra sensibilidad, según nues-tra preferencia, gusto, interés, necesidad, etc… Nadie podemos ver todos los ángu-los.

Vemos solo una parte, que es la menos impor-tante, pues vemos solo lo que aparece ex-teriormente, y solo Dios ve lo profundo, el corazón, si fue intencional o no, consciente o no, causado por la torpeza, desconoci-miento o pecado. Nosotros nunca pode-mos hacer ese juicio, y por ello nunca po-demos condenar.

Reconozcamos también que todo lo humano, como todo lo de este mundo caído, es im-perfecto, incompleto y por tanto todo es mejorable y criticable. Nunca llueve a gus-to de todos; lo que le parece bien a unos, no le parece a otros.

Quien quiera criticar no le faltará contenido verdadero para hacerlo, de todo y de to-dos, porque todo es imperfecto, incluyen-do el que critica. Mejor decidir no hacerlo, si no es con humildad, caridad y para edifi-car.

Todo se puede ver desde muchos ángulos, y a veces desde el de uno hace que se vea mal, porque nos falta conocer otras perspecti-

vas. Con frecuencia al conocer al punto de vista del otro se puede entender lo que hizo y porque lo hizo, cuando a simple vista no se veía y suscitaba críticas.

Obvio que hay cosas objetivamente malas que podemos condenar, como es el peca-do, pero no al pecador, pues no sabemos nunca lo que le podemos pedir y lo que no. No sabemos los talentos que recibió y lo puede ver y dar.

Pero El Cristiano Lo Pensará Dos Veces Antes De Criticar, por varias razones:

Quiere seguir el ejemplo y enseñanza de la pa-labra de Dios, que nos exhorta a soportar con paciencia las fallas de otros, incluso cuando tenemos quejas contra otros. Nos enseña a perdonar y amar como Jesús que no vino a condenar sino a salvar, y eso mismo debe ser siempre nuestro cometido para con los demás.

Somos conscientes de que no tenemos la ver-dad absoluta sino un leve atisbo de ella, desde nuestra perspectiva subjetiva, cono-cimiento parcial, gustos y deseos.

Queremos siempre construir el Reino, y ser edificantes para los demás. No queremos herir ni hacer sufrir a nadie. Queremos ser amor para con todos, y lloraremos amar-gamente por cuando no lo fuimos.

Podemos y debemos hacer correcciones frater-nales, con humildad y amor, cuando sea necesario, y expresar la legítima preocupa-ción a la persona adecuada.

Por todas estas razones yo no me atrevería a criti-

car en el sentido de condenar a nadie, y creo que nadie debería hacerlo. SOLO QUIERO EDIFICAR a los demás, como Cristo quiere. No puedo fiarme demasiado de mi propio jui-cio, consciente de que veo parcialmente, de que puedo ser llevado por mi propio interés y capricho, o ser engañado por el mundo y por el diablo que nos influye y tienta.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH CRITICIZING

Pope Francis in particular has been very emphatic in this regard to avoid criticism. I think this aspect of Christian morality is worth pondering. Let's pay attention to the various angles or facets of this:

We must begin with the consciousness that we are not God; we are only newborn crea-tures and our knowledge is partial, and of-ten distorted.

What we know comes to us through many filters that make us not see things as they are, but according to us. Everything goes through the filters what we have been told, through the interpretation of the one who told us, through our own filter, ac-cording to our sensitivity, according to our preferences, tastes, interests, needs, etc ... No one can see every angle.

We see only one part, which is the least im-portant, because we see only what appears externally, and only God can see the depth, the heart, whether it was intention-al or not, conscious or not, caused by clumsiness, ignorance or sin. We can never make that judgment, and therefore we can never condemn.

Let us also recognize that everything human, like everything in this fallen world, is im-perfect, incomplete and therefore every-thing can be improved and criticized. It never rains to everyone's liking; what seems good to some, does not seem to others.

Whoever wants to criticize will not have trou-ble finding content to criticize; of every-thing and everyone, because everything is imperfect, including the one who criticizes. It would be best to decide not to do it, if we are not to do it with humility, charity and to edify.

Everything can be seen from many angles, and sometimes one angle in particular makes it look bad, because we need to see other perspectives. Often by trying to see the

point of view of the other person you can understand what he did and why he did it, when at first glance it was not seen and it aroused criticism. Obviously, there are objectively bad things that we can condemn, such as sin, but not the sinner, because we never know what we can ask of him and what not. We do not know the talents he received and can see and give.

But A Christian Will Think Twice Before Criticiz-ing, For Various Reasons:

He wants to follow the example and teaching of the word of God, which exhorts us to bear with patience the failures of others, even when we have complaints against others. It teaches us to forgive and love like Jesus who did not come to condemn but to save, and that must always be our commitment to others.

We are aware that we do not have the abso-lute truth but a slight glimpse of it, from our subjective perspective, partial knowledge, tastes and desires.

We always want to build the Kingdom and be edifying for others. We do not want to hurt or make anyone suffer. We want to be love to all, and we will cry bitterly for the times when we were not as such.

We can and should do fraternal corrections, with humility and love, when necessary, and to express the legitimate concern to the appropriate person.

For these reasons, I would not dare to criticize in the sense of condemning anyone, and I believe that no one should. I JUST WANT TO EDIFY oth-ers, as Christ wants. I cannot rely too much on my own judgment, aware that I see partially, that I can be led by my own interest and whim, or be deceived by the world and by the devil who in-fluences and tempts us.

ST. JOSEPH OF CUPERTINO/SAN JOSÉ DE CUPERTINO September 18th

Joseph of Cupertino is most famous for levitating at prayer. Already as a child, Joseph showed a fondness for prayer. After a short career with the Capuchins, he joined the Conventual Franciscans. Following a brief assign-ment caring for the friary mule, Joseph began his studies for the priesthood. Though studies were very difficult for him, Joseph gained a great deal of knowledge from prayer. He was or-dained in 1628. Joseph’s tendency to levitate during prayer was sometimes a cross; some people came to see this much as they might have gone to a circus sideshow. Joseph’s gift led him to be humble, patient, and obedient, even though at times he was greatly tempted and felt forsaken by God. He fasted and wore iron chains for much of his life. The friars transferred Joseph several times for his own good and for the good of the rest of the com-munity. He was reported to and investigated by the Inquisition; the examiners exonerated him. Joseph was canonized in 1767. In the investigation preceding the canonization, 70 incidents of levita-tion are recorded. While levitation is an extraordinary sign of holiness, Joseph is also remembered for the ordinary signs he showed. He prayed even in times of inner darkness, and he lived out the Sermon on the Mount. He used his “unique possession”–his free will–to praise God and to serve God’s creation.

Después de una corta carrera con los capuchinos, se unió a los franciscanos conventuales. Después de una breve asignación al cuidado de la mula del convento, José comenzó sus estudios para el sacerdocio. Be on the lookout for signs that bullying is happening via the internet, texting, various apps, or social media – as challenging as it is, monitor both the amount of time your children are “plugged in” and the content of what they are doing when interacting with

their peers. Cyberbullying can include the use of apps, texts, photographs, and images that are intend-ed to hurt, harass, embarrass, or even destroy the reputation of a victim. Unlike at school, you cannot walk away from cyberbullying — it spreads instantly, 24/7. Children who are cyberbullied may avoid going online or talking to their so-called friends. They are likely to be sad or angry and may have low self-esteem.
