Poland is famous for its coast. Gdańsk Bay is full of tourists and people who are looking for great, active entertainment every year. From May to August there are great weather conditions . Almost every day is sunny and warm.There is always mild wind .That all causes that Polish coast is really popular destination for sailors and windsurfers.

For those who are bored lying down on the beach there are some other attractions . There is a web of water trams and other passenger ships which can take you for the trip through the most beautiful places in Polish coast . Most of ships gives you an oportunity to take your bike with you and have bicycle tour through picturesque hel peninsula

The Baltic sea is about 1600 km long, an average of 193 km wide, and an average of 55 m deep.

The maximum depth is 459 m , on the Swedish side of the center.

The surface area is about 377,000 km² and the volume is about 20,000 km³ .

The periphery amounts to about 8000 km of coastline.

The Baltic Sea is crossed by several cruiseferry lines. Some important shipping companies are Viking Line, Silja Line and Tallink.

Stena Line is one of the world's largest ferry operators, with ferry services serving Scotland, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Denmark, Norway, England, Wales, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands and Poland. Stena Line also owns the Swedish vessels of the otherwise German and Danish-owned Scandlines.

Tallink and Viking operate competing cruiseferries on the routes Stockholm - Turku and Stockholm - Helsinki, calling in Åland. They also compete in sailings between Helsinki and Tallinn.

Additionally Tallink sails

Stockholm - Åland - Tallinn and Stockholm - Riga while Viking sails Åland - Kapellskär.

The busiest cruiseferry route in the Baltic is the 80-kilometre voyage between Helsinki and Tallinn, travelled by over 6 million people in 2008.

Ferry – a ship used for transporting passengers and vehicles (sometimes cargo as well), usually moving across regular trace, for exmple from Gdansk to Bornholm.

Sailing ship – a ship which moves using the power of wind by sails. It is used mainly for sport and recreation.
