Areas of testing include a student kit check, an oral skin assessment, a written exam covering the fundamentals of skin care, sanitation, skin analysis, a hands-on basic facial demonstration, facial massage and a beauty and fantasy makeup Tasks To Be Evaluated The contest will include an oral communications assessment, one written examination and four separate skill performance tasks. Contestants will perform a facial, along with a daytime makeup, and a fantasy make up look. Contestants will also take a 50 question test (multiple choice) regarding skin care and sanitation. Clothing Requirement National Requirement: For men: Official SkillsUSA white dress shirt or white polo, black dress slacks, black socks and black leather work shoes. For women: Official white smock, black dress slacks, black socks or black or skin-tone seamless hose, and black leather shoes, no jewelry. For models: Plain black t-shirt, black dress slacks, black or skin-tone seamless hose and black leather shoes, no jewelry. Models and contestants must have hair pulled away from the face; must have a clean, cosmetic-free face. Jewelry may be included on the model only during the prop application time in the fantasy portion of the contest. State Requirement: ALL Models and Contestants MUST be in white shirt, black dress pants, black or skin tone seamless hose, and black leather shoes, no jewelry. Supplies Provided by Technical Committee • Tables (for use in performance of facials) • Chairs (for models) • Small table for products • Towel steamers • Water • Bowls • All items necessary for basic facial and massage skills will be provided by the technical

committee and will include: cleanser, toner, moisturizer, exfoliator, mask, and massage cream. Supplies Provided by Contestant

• Make-up for daytime and fantasy ( NO liquid eyeliners) • white terry cloth towels • spatulas • cotton swabs • fan and mask brushes • cotton 4x4 pads or sponges • tissues • mascara wand • makeup brushes • All applicators must be disposable or sanitized. • Eyelashes: adhesives, tweezers, scissors and necessary application tools with alcohol wipes

and sanitizers • Headband • Proper draping supplies (cape for makeup application and one fitted and one flat white, clean,

twin-size sheet for massage and facial skills) • Plastic bags for sanitation and soiled linens (large zip-lock bags are recommended that fit

linens and towels) • Latex-free gloves (at least two pair) • Paper towels or tissues (can be mini travel size) • Decontamination supplies for hands, equipment and implements (must be EPA approved, e.g.,

(but not limited to) Barbicide, Utronics, Clorox wipe • Stainless steel bowl for water (1_ quart minimum size) • Blood spill kit must have a biohazard bag and be properly labeled. First aid kit by itself is not

acceptable. Additional Information Better to over prepare, have a extra supplies in case. Check SkillsUSA site for updates Students will also take a 50 question test regarding skin care. There is also an oral part to the Esthetics contest. *Bag check will take place Thursday evening immediately following opening ceremony.*
