In the Parish: NEWS & UPDATES

All ladies 18 and older …

You are invited to join the Sacred Heart Catholic

Women's Club.

Our mission is to support the pastor in various parish projects

throughout the year, such as: weekly continental breakfast

after the 8am Mass, receptions for First Communion and

Confirmation, luncheon for workers at Polish the Parish, etc.

We also participate in the SpiritFM Women's Conference. Our meetings are normally held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from September through May. Our first meeting for this

year will be held on Wednesday, September 8th at 6:30pm in the parish hall. At this meeting, we

will elect officers to serve as President, Vice-President,

Secretary and Historian. Please prayerfully consider volunteering

to support this ministry.

For more information, please contact Melissa Fretz at

[email protected].

RCIA - Interested in the Catholic Faith?

ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO…

• Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic? • Has a child over the age of seven who has not been baptized? • Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the

Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist?

The journey of RCIA begins with inquiry — asking questions. For more info, please contact Mary

Andrysiak at the parish office or [email protected].

SACRED HEART PRAYER MINISTRY:

If you have a prayer request, please contact Marge Andrysiak at [email protected], to have your intention placed on the prayer chain. Your request will remain confidential. “Private intentions” available.

ARE YOU COURAGEOUSLY LIVING THE GOSPEL?

IS GOD ASKING YOU TO SPREAD HIS FRAGRANCE?

We need CATECHISTS, ASSISTANTS and CLASSROOM AIDES

for our Sunday Religious Ed Program! Please prayerfully consider whether God is asking you to help us! We are currently preparing for the upcoming Religious Education Program. Classes are held on Sundays from 9:05am to 10:20am. Please consider sharing your faith with the children of our parish. If you are interested in helping, please contact our D.R.E., Judy Bires.

All Volunteers are asked to complete a Level II

background screening and the Safe Environment Program

through the Diocese.

DIOCESAN SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING AND LEVEL II BACKGROUND SCREENING

Consider these questions. During the next year, would you possibly have occasion to be around any children in our parish in a supervisory capacity? Will you want to volunteer at St. Anthony School or Bishop McLaughlin HS? Will you want to chaperone or participate in activities for our youth group? Will you want to volunteer at our Early Childhood Center? Will you volunteer to help with our Religious Education Program or Liturgy of the Word with Children? Will you be helping with altar servers?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you must complete the Safe Environment Program training from the Diocese for Unsupervised Access to Children and Youth, and if you will be in a supervisory capacity, you will need a Level II Background Screening. Please contact Judy Bires in the parish office for information on how to complete this training and if you need background screening.

Prayer for the Protection during Hurricane Season

O God, Master of this passing world, hear the humble voices of your children. The Sea of Galilee obeyed Your order and returned to its former quietude. You are still the Master of land and sea. We live in the shadow of a danger over which we have no control: the Gulf, like a provoked and angry giant, can awake from its seeming lethargy, overstep its conventional boundaries, invade our land, and spread chaos and disaster. During this hurricane season we turn to You, O loving Father. Spare us from past tragedies whose memories are still so vivid and whose wounds seem to refuse to heal with passing of time. O Virgin, Star of the Sea, Our beloved Mother, we ask you to plead with your Son on our behalf, so that spared from the calamities common to this area and animated with a true spirit of gratitude, we will walk in the footsteps of your Divine Son to reach the heavenly Jerusalem, where a stormless eternity awaits us. Amen.

In the Parish: STEWARDSHIP OF SHARING

We understand that many of our parishioners are enduring financial struggles, especially with the past year due to business closures and other financial strains. You are in our prayers! We prayerfully affirm whatever actions are necessary for you to provide for yourselves and your loved ones. If, however, you are still able to financially support our parish and would like to continually give offertory in light of the dispensation to attend the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, you may mail a check to the parish or send a check via your bank’s bill payment option or select Sacred Heart Parish Dade City for Online Giving through the Diocesan website. Whatever your situation, we truly appreciate your support.
