At the outset, the Vice-Chancellor welcomed the members. Thereafter, the
agenda was taken up as follows:
1. Confirmed the minutes of 26th meeting of the Academic Council held on 12.06.2020, with following amendments/corrections.
Resolution no. 20: Name of the Ph.D. Scholar be read as Pooja Rani instead
of Pooja.
Resolution no. 54
The Vice-Chancellor is authorized to review the Ph.D. Ordinance and URS
rules, after discussion with Prof. Pankaj Sharma and Dean Academic Affairs.
Resolution no. 75 (iv).
Prof. Dilbag Singh apprised the House that some typographical error was
recorded in the minutes and the Vice-Chancellor has ordered to submit his
observation in writing in this regard.
Further, the Vice-Chancellor is authorized to resolve the matter.
2. Noted the action taken report on the decisions of the previous meeting of the Academic Council held on 12.06.2020, with following observations:
Resolution no. 40
The Action Taken Report has been received from the concerned branch and
same has been approved.
Resolution no. 47
The committee is directed to expedite its work related to Ph.D. Course Work
in respect of Assistant Professor (C) in similar cases.
3. Noted the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor under Session 11(6) of the
University Act & Statute 2003, regarding approval of the Hand Book of
Information and Instructions/Guidelines for the session 2020-21. Further,
admission notice issued for admission to MCA (Lateral Entry) be corrected.
4. Noted the action taken by the Vice Chancellor under section 11(6) of the
University Act & Statute 2003, for grant of provisional affiliation to start new
subject of Home Science, Geography (40 students each) and Music (20
students) in Art Stream of Bachelor of Arts on the Self Financing basis in Shri
Durga Mahila Mahavidyalya, Tohana, Distt. Fatehabad w.e.f. the Academic
Session 2020-21.
5. Noted the action taken by the Vice Chancellor under section 11(6) of the
University Act & Statute 2003, for grant of provisional affiliation to start new
subject of Geography at B. A. Level with strength of 60 students on the Self
Financing Basis in Mata Harki Devi College for Women, Odhan, District Sirsa
w.e.f. the Academic Session 2020-21.

6. Noted the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor under section 11(6) of the
University Act & Statute 2003, regarding Ph.D. Admission 2020-21.
JRF be added and validation period of GATE for 4 years also be included for
eligibility for admission to Ph.D. Course. Further, resolved that reservation at
teacher level be considered by the Committee of Dean Academic Affairs and
Prof. Pankaj Sharma.
7. Considered and approved the recommendation of Faculty of Social Science,
regarding the approval of Syllabus & Scheme of various courses.
8. Considered and approved to nominate one person from Industry in the
UGBOS and PGBOS&R of the concerned Department. The same be referred
to Executive Council.
9. Approved the recommendations of the Staff Council and UGBOS for shifting
the B.A. JMC course with its faculty from Departments of JMC to University
College.
10. Approved the recommendations of the Staff Council and PGBOS&R for
decrease of seats in MA JMC from 60 to 30.
11. Considered and approved the following recommendation of the Committee
Dated 8.7.20 for amendment/add in the rules:

Chapter II Conduct of
Examinations (C) point 22
The students shall check and
ensure that, after receiving the
answer book but before
answering the question(s), all
the pages of answer sheet are
intact. They should report to
the Assistant Superintendent/
Invigilator for the
discrepancies if any. No
complaint, thereafter, in this
regard will be entertained.
Further, resolved to add this
instruction on the answer
sheet.
Chapter II point No 5.1
The candidate whose
answer-book is lost after
having been received by
the Centre Superintendent
of the Examination and
who, but for this answer-
book, would have either
passed in the examination
or is likely to be placed
under compartment shall,
unless he/she opts for re-
examination on a date to be
fixed by the

Resolved to recommend to the Executive Council for consideration and
approval.
12. Noted the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor regarding online examinations
for students of terminal semester/year for course being run in the UTDs and
affiliated colleges (except education colleges).
Further, also resolved to conduct the examinations of terminal year courses
being run in the Education Colleges through offline/online mode.
13. Considered and approved the recommendation of the Departmental Research
Committee, PGBOS&R in Food Science & Technology and Faculty of Life
Sciences in respect of following scholar for registration in Ph.D. Programme
