Thank you to all our families who participated in the Toowoomba Grammar Swim School Mini Meet on Friday, 6 September.
It was a great evening with kickboard and noodle races, 25m races, relays and races against swim teachers, as well as a free sausage sizzle provided by the TGS Swimming Club to keep the fuel up to all those little ‘super fish’.
We hold these Mini Meets each year to give younger children a fun introduction to swimming competitions thanks to the support of Swimming Queensland and McDonalds, who kindly provided all swimmers with a Macca’s Mini Meet Pack.
Here’s some happy snaps from the event…

Congratulations to Toowoomba Grammar School Swim Club members, Year 11 students, Charlie Schoorl and Henry Reardon, who have both been selected for the 2019 Australian Olympic Change-Maker program.
Both young men were nominated by Toowoomba Grammar School and had to submit a one-minute video demonstrating how they use sport to display leadership and improve health and wellbeing in their school or local community. You can see their successful video submissions below.
Henry and Charlie will now attend a State Forum in Brisbane on Saturday, 14 September to share their ideas with like-minded youth and be immersed in a unique Olympic experience. From here, they could be selected for the National Olympic Change-Maker Summit which will be held in December.
Henry and Charlie are inspirational young men to both the TGS Swim Club and the School community and we wish them the best of luck with this special experience.
